It's week five and no teams season should be on the line. However, for the Fins this is desparation time, in my opinion.

I think that they are going to come in and play their hearts out - at a playoff game level. When they walk out 1-4, their season will be gone.

So, expect a very tough game this Sunday. It will be hard hitting until the time, when ever that is, that they are defeated and there is no hope for them to win.

I think a 10 point spread on this game is absurd given the desparation. Maybe it will break open for us in the 4th quarter and we will make that spread. I wouldn't bet on it,if I was betting.

I'm sure that the Patriots players and coaches understand this. But, I've seen and heard too many people say that this will be an easy win for us. It will be a win but not an easy one.

I agree. I think it'll be a tough game. Miami always plays us tough even when they shouldn't. And if they drop to 1-4 their chances to make the playoffs are VERY slim. I think Miami and the points might be the play of the week.

i agree too
for them it is a win-win situation, a real must

it means that the Pats have to be carefully

it will be imho a very tough game

still i think we will win with 1 td advantage

we have to close MIA the door for the Afc East

I agree Miami will give it a playoff game effort. Yet, if the Pats match their intensity it really should be a Pats blow out of Miami. Miami really could be 0-4 instead of 1-3. They barely, barely beat Tenn. at home. Miami's secondary is no where near the secondary of past Miami teams that gave Tom trouble. I would go long on them often.

Peter King on WEEI said that Miami was very focused in practice this week because they know their season is on the brink. I fully expect the Miami D to bring their "A" game. From what I've heard, the Miami O-line is in shambles and cannot protect the QB. Its going to be extremely difficult for Miami to overcome this weakness.

I agree, they have got that win this game. The dolphins 3rd in classification and Jets 2nd

I fear this game more than the cincy game. The bengals could be run on and that is how we won. Can we run on Miami? If not, can Tom and company bring us a win? I don't know the answer to that but sure hope they can. I also, have not been that impressed with our run defense. I know the defense will get better as the season goes on, but this game makes me scared. I could easily see this game turning out just like the Denver game.

For Miami this is their season. If they lose Sunday all the delusions of grandeur they had coming into this season (along with the morons who picked them to win the AFC East) are gone with one last puff of smoke. This is a *must* win for them if they're to keep their hopes alive. I'm just not sure such a bad team can pull it together in one week. Their offensive line is a horror, the QB completely undependable etc. It's time for Belichick and Co. to pile on and put them out of their misery.:bricks:

At least they'll get to remember what it's like to lose a playoff game then. It's been a while since they've even gotten THAT far.

If you think this is going to be a blowout, you are going to be VERY disappointed. Like you said, the Dolphins have their backs up against the wall and always dominate Tom Brady. He can't figure out the Dolphins and is always good for a couple of picks a game. If the Fins offense can finally convert the TOs into points, they will win. Should be a great game and I have been looking forward to this one of months. A Dolphin win totally turns the season around and puts them right back in it. And like you said, a loss ends their season.

Here's to no injuries and the Fins whoopin' the Pats! :D

That's the funniest thing I've heard in ages. With that offensive line you have your QB will be lucky to make it through the first quarter without being drawn and quartered by Seymour, Wilfork, Warren etc. The fins may play desparate on Sunday, but they're such a mess that they can't get out of their own way to accomplish anything. Who'd they lose to last week? Houston? Enough said.:D

Everytime I think that your team has fallen far enough for you to be grounded in your thought patterns you come out and make a donkey of yourself again. I think you need to try harder to be objective in your posts.

Tom (and the rest of the Pats) is 4-1 (the 1 loss, as we all know, was the game to end last season where Tom played about 3 series and then the backups proceeded to get beat by a failed two point conversion against Dolphin starters) against the Fins at home, correct? If that's being dominated, then I'm prepared to be dominated on Sunday.

Say what you want about Brady's performances IN Miami, but please get it right when talking about how the Pats fair against the fish in New England.

Whatever you guys say. Just don't start whining when the game is much closer than you think.

Is this being a Miami playoff game a bad thing? They haven't won one since 2000.

It boggles the mind to think we have won 3 SBs since their last playoff win (a wildcard win, they lost the following week to the Raiders of all teams 27-0).

There are very few of us, if any, that while "whine" if the game ends up close. We here don't care how a win looks as long as it's a win.

I won't even 'whine' if the Dolphins do manage a win. I will, however, stand by my statements to you, as those are valid regardless of the outcome of this game.

good thing they aren't a very good team so it shouldn't matter.

this is the NFL, with only 16 games once a week. Being pumped for a game doesn't have nearly the effect it does in other sports where players are regularly fatigued after playing games on consecutive days. Every game is (or should be) prepped for as if a playoff game. Maybe the Dolphins need the boost but the Pats, except for one or two games each year, regularly play at max intensity.

i'm hoping to see some misdirections and screens to take advantage of any overaggressiveness on Miami's part.

A4E,

I have never seen Harrington in a game, since he has been in the league. (Why would you want to ever actualy want to watch the Lions?)

Can you give me a scouting report on Harrington? pocket passer? rollout guy? Can he throw on the run? Does he scramble well? His best talent/ his big weaknesses?

Thanks,

AZPatsFan

Wasn't that the whole point of this thread?

The game is going to be close. The only way that it becomes a blowout is that the Partiots get several turnovers and convert them into scores. Otherwise, the patriots win by a TD.

Fins Fans' smack talk now amounts to predicting a non-blowout.
