Here is a thread from Finheaven, a Dolphins message board.

Notice how it starts out with bravado then tapers down to "we cant beat them". On the final page of the thread they post a thread from our baord. One poster seems shocked that we, as fans, are taking this game seriously.

Just more idiocy from "Al-Finzeera". I swear the total IQ of that website is about 77. I do enjoy watching they whine and cry about their "mighty" Dolphins.

You know, I have to sympathize with the guy who wrote this:

"im gonna go out on a limb here and say this is the week where we flip the switch. duante has gotten a little better each week heck if we played as well as we did at the end of games from the first kickoff we could be 4-0 now. SO PLAEASE ALL POWERFULL FOOTBALL GODS BLESS US WITH A WIN OVER THE PATS FOR I HAVE BEEN YOUR FAITHFULL SERVANT FOR YEARS it is written in the book of shula 2nd chapter 4th verse the dolphins shall not suck"

That is a near-perfect summation of the experience of being a true-blue fan of a truly lousy team. You start off trying to pump yourself up with a few shreds of positive evidence, work up a little "if-only" optimism, then just break down and pray for divine intervention. Given the long years of suffering Pats fats endured, I bet a lot of us can relate.

This statement confuses me. Do they really think Tom thorwing the ball alot would give us no chance to win. Especially now that he has started to become more familiar with his WR's. We also have 2 great pass catching TE. How quickly people forget what a good passer Brady is.

You are certainly right about the way I used to feel about the Patriots most years, from the mid 70's to the mid 90's.

This had me giggling. SO true. But you know, the whole divine intervention thing....was there not a thread here about needing a miracle to beat the Cincinatti Bengals? I had hoped we were beyond the "truly lousy" stage, but I guess old habits die hard.;)

Hey... we're not even one week removed from a game that no one thought WE could win! No fans or members of the team are going to do anything BUT treat this game seriously.

... but you do have to love the bravado of fans who don't know the difference between "Your" and "You're"! That tells you all you need to know.

Yeah, I know just how the guy is feeling. For what it's worth, he's a true fan of his team.

I've noticed a lot of people posting about how worried they are about the Phins.

How many do you think are just indulging in a little superstition, because they posted about how they were worried about the Bengals last week, and the Pats blew them out?

Not that there's anything wrong with that -- I'm convinced that the beer I drink affects the team. I watched the 1st game from a bar in Manhattan. I started out drinking Sam. After the first half, I decided to switch to Brooklyn Lager -- and we all know what happened.

So I drank Brooklyn Lager during the game @ the Jets, and that turned out pretty well. Then I let my girlfriend pick up the beer for me and my friends while she was at the market on Sunday afternoon -- and she came home with a case of Sam Adams. (She thought she was being thoughtful.)

So it's my fault we lost vs. Denver.

But you can rest assured I'll be drinking Brooklyn Brewery beers every Sunday from now 'til February.

I just can't believe I live in the midst of all those fools. Someone give me a nice paying job and a place to live there in New England. :(

Pats Nasty:

Go ahead and enjoy your Sam Adams, you see, it's really due to how my wife arranges her Patriots bedsheets before the game. So she takes the blame for the loss. ;)

Thanks... it's nice to share some of the blame. To be on the safe side, I'm sticking to Brooklyn beers on Sundays. It's not much of a hardship -- I'll just have to drink more Sam on weekdays.

I wonder how many other Pats feel responsible for the Denver loss... I'm gonna make a thread about it...

Please do. I know I'll sleep a little sounder at night.

I really will.

Just for the record, who are the two great passing catching tight ends? Man, talk about living in fantasy land.

Are you serious?

Wow, so nice to see so many "knowledgeable" Doofins fans on that message board! Only one of the believers could come up with any reasonable explanation as to why his team could win this game. Doofins fans have got to be the most misguided bunch this side of Raider Nation. Very amusing.

It should be a good game. They always are when these two teams meet. The Dolphins season is on the line and the Patriots can really put some space in the division with a win because that would move them to 3-0 in the East. This is a big one.

Hmmmm, maybe because it's a divisional game and divisional games are never easy??? Remember 12/20/04??? You were 12-1 and we were 1-12. WE BEAT YOU:singing: !!!!!!!!!!!
Your secondary is suspect. If our OL can get pick up your blitzes, you're going to have some problems, as CPEP is finally ready to pull his head out of his back end. You guys are good but by no means unbeatable and we are by no means as bad as one may think. You're ****iness is really indicative of your ignorance. In fact, I'll be surprised if we don't beat you clowns!!!!!!!! LET'S GO MIAMI!!!!!!!!!!! Your days of dominance are over!!!!!

I will say this though, that Maroney is one bad dude. there is no question he was the best RB picked up in the draft. Bush more valuable than Maroney??? pulllllease. Maroney's awesome. We'll control him though.

The Dolphins have the worst offensive line in the league. Enough said.
