Patriots claim OT Steve Maneri from Houston

Sounds ideal for the tackle-eligible role.

I am sure that BB would not cut McK unless he was really high on this guy. Of course we drafted Larsen and Welch instead of him.

perhaps they saw something more of Maneri the 4 weeks of texan preseason games they undoubtedly went through

A 4 TE set for the red zone?

Hmmm... four-tightend sets with Maneri supplying the beef. You could also have a five tightend set with Matt Light and have Edelman the QB for a super-Wildcat. I like it. Old-time football. Now if they would just play in mud...

i see this as a bad sign for mark levoir. thanks to nflnetworks constant replays i got to zero in on levoir and he sucks. Ojinakka was much better than him and i also thought bussey outplayed him as well. Once ojinakka's suspension is over i expect levoir or bjge to be released.

I dont think they are related. We would have had to cut McKenzie when Ojinakka's suspension was over any way. At best it cost McKenzie a week on the team/

73, If you think building the Pats from other teams cast-offs is the way to go, then enjoy that,

I won't get in your way,,

Last year we could not beat Houston on the field, this year we need their cast-offs, ,,,

Too many to list, so I'll just say the 2001 Patriots say hi.

Why would you not continuously look for players that might help your team?

So if a team signs a player that was cut by another team, then the first team must suck?

Or are you trying to say that if a team picks up a player that was cut by the Saints that is okay, but if a team picks up a player that last played for a team that missed the playoffs, then they may as well give up on the season?

Do you seriously think that every single player on an NFL roster should be drafted by that team, or signed by that team as a rookie undrafted free agent? What, will players be tainted and impure if they ever played elsewhere? The football equivalent to your idea of marrying a non-virgin, perhaps?

Listen. I don't know what your deal is. I don't care. Clearly you aren't being logical in any sense of the word. This idea of yours that the Pats suck at the draft is just ludicrous and isn't supported by anything. Heck, you've provided nothing to support your claim.

Here are my claims. Claims that have been pointed out by Numerous pundits.

The Pats currently have, on their roster and practice squad, 19 of the 24 players the drafted in the last 2 years. Two of the players they drafted were signed by other teams in Larsen and Robinson. The three players who aren't on the roster are McKenzie, Bussey, and Welch..

The Pats adding a single UDFA to their team from another team doesn't mean they stink or suck or anything else. All it means is that Maneri signed with the Texans for whatever reason and now he's a Patriot.

Now, lets go to this idea that the Pats couldn't beat the Texans. I think you need to be reminded about that game a bit. It was decided by one score. The Pats lost Welker early in that game. They also didn't dress Faulk, Bodden, Wilfork, Warren, and Maroney. I also remember that Brady didn't play the 2nd quarter or the final drive of the game. Oh, and everyone on the entire 45 man game roster saw snaps. Including the reserve O-linemen.

So, would I expect the Pats to win? No. I wouldn't. Belichick put the game in the hands of the 2nd and 3rd stringers and they didn't have what it took to hold off a very good Houston team.

So, I'll stick to living in reality and dealing with reality instead of over-reacting.

EDIT: One last note. You need to memorize RayClay's sig. I don't care how many times you have to read it until it sinks it, but you do. Then, and only then, will you begin to understand the Patriots.

If you are talking about Maneri, then I'm not sure where you heard that he cleared waivers. The Pats announced that they claimed him in their official release. Not tha they signed him to their practice squad.

If you aren't talking about Maneri, who are you talking about?

It was being "reported" in the other thread, DaBruinz.

i want a guy like this in there, that can learn under Crumpler, and be a great blocker, and catch passes when needed. Crumpler won't be here forever, and I would rather have Gronk and Hernandez down the field.

Dontcha love it:D

AFCE Roundup: The Pats made 1 waiver claim, the Bills 2, the Jets 3, the Dolphins 4. A waiver claim isn't a sign of the football apocalypse, it's business as usual.
