When Do We Turn To Matt Cassell?

Hey are you all in the mood for some white castle burgers?

very funny. I'm glad I could help lighten the mood around here. ;)

Please do not criticize.
Some fans have just watched their 1st few football games and need to learn the ropes. Like who is Tom Brady, what has he ever done and why is he starting.

I'm not new here. I'm just saying if this play continues(which I highly doubt it will) the question will come up. So just to feed the pessimists(we know there's a plenty today) I figured I'd have a fun little poll.

The only way I or anyone else would even entertain the idea is if he is hurt. If this is true then starting Cassel would allow Brady to heal up and return to the guy we know and love. I would feel much better with this scenario with Cassel coming in than Rohan Davey or Damon Huard.

What do you mean Michael Bishop isn't available? :bricks:

Cassell didn't seem to care who his receivers were, he just threw the ball, and did pretty well at that (in the pre season and last years Miami game). Brady has to stop worrying about who his receivers are, and just start throwing them the damned ball, accurately (sorry Keyshawn).

Wow. I come from a country known for its obscure humour.....

Admitting it is the first step in recovery.....

I'm honestly embarrassed this thread is on the front page of these forums now. I'm sure other fans are cruising through here to check the damage and they are positively howling with laughter at the way we are reacting to last night. Stuff like this only provides entertainment for fans of other teams, trust me.

I don't know if you can equate that with what Tom is doing because Cassel doesn't have nearly as much pressure on him to do well. If Tom is anything less than perfect as a leader and player then everyone is dissapointed. Cassel is the 7th round back-up who barely played in college who can moreso just go out there and throw the ball around. Plus teams play him differently than they do Brady.

Why the hell should we care how other fans are viewing us? We played horrible on offense. What do we have to be so proud about? Lighten up people & btw if you don't want it on the front page then simply don't respond. ;)

Oh, I don't care THAT much (not enough to refrain from throwing in my 2 cents repeatedly), but I assure you, I routinely cruise through other forums and LMAO. It's part of the fun.

As for what we have to be proud about...not last night's performance, that's for sure. However, calling for Cassell and "not being proud of a loss" are two totally different reactions.

F Cassell, where is Micheal Bishop, or Scott Zolak.

... come on the guy is clearly having an issue with these new WRs.
Gee, that sounds logical. A "new" QB would obviously do better with "new" WRs.

We should have never let Drew Bledsoe go.

I enjoy hearing the views of other team's fans as well. I believe I even linked several of the posters(yourself included) to a general NFL forum recently via PM. I post there to gain some perspective. Not to wallow in others misery.

It wasn't meant to be taken seriously, but let's not forget how Brady got his career started. Granted Bledsoe had been struggling for some time by then, but he was still considered the franchise at the time.

I honestly expected to see this thread last night during the game when frustrations here high, and was very pleased it didn't happen.

I did not expect this thread today, when people had a night to sleep off last night's "incident." I'm somewhat disappointed, though the drug humor alleviates that.

/thinks the original poster remembers to "always bring a towel"

Oh I totally agree w/you Bella*chick! But the whole board is full of this craziness:
I've never been so angry and depressed in all my life
A solution to Brady's overthrows
Is it me or does Seau stink?
The Pats are doomed.
Maroney looked lost without Corey out there 1/2 the time
Where is that hard hitting Rodney we all know and love?
Not much optimism
Whos the best WR out there that is bagging groceries right now?
Brady is not getting it done. Stop w/ the WR excuses !
Gostlousyski needs a replacement -don't give me another excuse
Patriots lacking playmakers

If only this were just the third game of the season and not the playoffs. What happened to our season? Somebody wake me up and tell me it's not Jan. '07!

this thread is funny

There is a problem with turning the team over to Matt Cassell.

With 3 Super Bowl rings, I am not sure if Tom Brady would be willing suffer the humiliation and indignity of carrying the jockstrap of someone who has never played a down in college.

So if we turn to Matt Cassell, we will have to trade Tom Brady.

I think Miami needs a QB, so trading Brady to the Dolphins for a first rounder might not be a bad idea. I am sure Nick Saban would not mind helping his friend out by taking Brady's contract.

As for finding a backup to Cassell, we have a few former players/draftees who are looking for work: Rohan Davey, Major Applewhite, Chris Redman, and Kliff Klingsbury.

.

Now, the tread title is perfectly logical.

If you had your head up your own ass and wanted to see if there was an echo.

Am I on Candid Camera?????

We're doomed. I'll bet we couldn't even beat a team like Oakland. Just doomed to a life of obscurity.

And here I was thinking we were going to be playing Seattle two games in a row this winter.
