Re: Jay Mariotti arrested

Hey Jay...... Karma's a *****, isn't she?

If Karma is a she, Jay has probably beaten it once or twice.

Re: Jay Mariotti arrested

I didn't know Oklahoma had trees :D

Re: Jay Mariotti arrested

You know, my first thought here was don't pile on the guy. Things happen and you never know.

Then I thought of this: Swap in "(Patriot player/coach name" for "Jay Mariotti" in that story, and I wonder how Jay Mariotti would react in his very public forum. Yup, Karma. One of many reasons I haven't watched that network in literally years.

Re: Jay Mariotti arrested

holy f&ck.....you really can't please people. Oh and sooner, forums are for opinions. that's why they exist.

Well, the problem was that you didn't include a link to the article in your original post, so people couldn't find out what happ...Oh, wait. Nevermind. :D

Re: Jay Mariotti arrested

Man is he hated. Completely trashed in the comments. Many are hilarious. Me, I have no idea who he is since I avoid watching any of the mediots.

Be glad you don't know him. The guy is a MEGA *******. And yes, I agree about the comments. This one is especially true...

Jay Mariotti what happened.? You talk so much junk about athletes that make mistakes and want them penalized to the fullest. You shouldnt pass judgement about other people when you cant even control your actions. Next up Skip Bayless.

Agreed on all counts. Skip Bayless going down the tubes would be the only thing better than Mariotti.

Re: Jay Mariotti arrested

I didn't know you could get arrested for knowing nothing about sports

Usually you just get hired by the Globe. Mariotti is the poster child for being nice to people on the way up,because you may need them on the way down. He burned bridges when he left his newspaper job (weeks after they spent $$ to send him to Beijing to cover the Olympics) declaring newspaper to be a dying breed. Ebert (of Siskel and Ebert) trashed him

in a way that says people were glad to see him go.
Somebody ought to do a documentary on the problems the talking heads at ESPN are having. Karma really is a b*tch.......

Re: Jay Mariotti arrested

ESPN's Jay Mariotti arrested by L.A. police

WOW. I think Around the Horn should have athletes like Mike Tyson, Mike Vick, Tiger Woods on the show to discuss Mariotti's legal troubles. Heck they can even throw in a bonus Celeb (Chris Brown) as icing on the cake!!! Chickens coming home to roast or WHAT?!?!?! Talk to me!

Would have been better if he was caught foundling a man in a dark parking lot. But I guess I can settle for this.....:D

You can just combine them for even more shock value, he beat his boyfriend (Skip Bayless of course) because he wasn't putting out.

Re: Jay Mariotti arrested

What goes around comes around, i.e. payback is a bytch.

Re: Jay Mariotti arrested

I really can't figure out why this guy ever got a spot on that ESPN show in the first place. I just don't get it. Do some people actually like watching him? I just can't fathom that.

Re: Jay Mariotti arrested

domestic disturbance charge involving his girlfriend. He was being held on $50,000 bail

This doesnt sound like your run of the mill domestic abuse case, there could be a lot more to this story, he could be a repeat offender, stay tuned.

Re: Jay Mariotti arrested

Instead of a four paragraph rant on your opinion of Jay (which nobody is interested in) why don't you post a summary of what he was arrested for first, then go into your rant. Thanks.

Jay is that you? Out so soon?!

That was one of my reactions to this too. $50,000 bail seems to me to be an awful lot for a typical domestic. In fact my initial reaction was that that figure couldn't be accurate.

Obviously this is the first incident that we know of, but there has to be more to the story.

Douchebags must be good for ratings.

See Zolak and Gresh.
