the board punching bag checks in for another round...

Weren't you the one that said you watched more Jets games than I did?

The OL works as a cohesive unit, never differentiating from the scheme.

It was a mistake made by a rookie QB not to recognize Freeney was coming unblocked.

Twice.

The line worked exactly how it was supposed to.

Meaning Brick did nothing wrong and the sack is on the QB.

1.) If you're leaving Freeney unblocked on a passing play, you've probably got a design flaw or a player mistake.

2.) We hear nothing more than how great the Jets defensive coaching is.

3.) The logical conclusion is that D'Bust screwed the pooch.

4.) Arguing against that conclusion without insider knowledge is precisely the sort of stupidity people expect from Jets fans.

Sorry that you feel an unbiased party holding the same opinion I do is somehow making things up.

This is why your site is widely regarded as a joke.

PFF admits to a huge rate of error in its ratings (10%-20%), and also admits to the subjectivity of its base data. That's why the site is completely unreliable for rankings/formulas, and useless when in conflict with the official sites regarding data.

Not understanding that is why your post is a joke. Then again, you are a Jets fan, and that explains a lot.

As for this site being "widely regarded as a joke", you're a fan of another team posting on the site. The Joke would seem to be on you.

Who's the genius that designed a blocking scheme to leave Dwight Freeney unblocked coming at a rookie quarterback? I can guess how that ones gonna end 99% of the time.

Exactly who regards this site as a joke?

I think that Brick got an OK deal IF HE IS NOT INJURED. The obvious need is an injurance contract that pays in case of injury. If he can get that policy for $2M for 2010 and a bit more in 2010, he is way ahead of the game.\\

BTW, I consider Light better than Brick, so it will be interesting to see what we offer Light next year.

There you go double dipping again mg. I assume you mean $2M for 2010 and a bit more in 2011 but the fact is he'll need it for the bulk of the deal since he has no injury protection from season to season throughout, and loss of skill is subjective. After factoring in $10M or more in insurance expenses and assuming he opts not to stage a million dollar protest TC holdout in any given season though also assuming he fails to make his ST escalators...if he plays at a level that leads them to retain him throughout the potential net value of the contract is maybe 6/$48M. If that's your idea as way ahead of the game...you must be a big fan of Brad Blank.

As for Light, given the age difference I don't expect to see him remain here if he's looking for more than what Brick got this season...or substantially different guarantees much beyond that...

lolz.

Rather than answer you eejits any longer, I'll just leave this here.

I should say that a number of NFL teams took our PP information last year and let us know it was in excess of 99 percent accurate. If we had two people doing the same game, that number rises to between 99.9 and 100 percent accuracy.

Rather than just leave you to troll unanswered, I'll respond with this here.

Many people say that as soon as you start grading then you bring subjectivity into your work and obviously, to some degree, that's true. However there's also subjectivity around whether a play was a QB run for negative yardage or a sack, if an assist on a tackle should be awarded and if a catch was dropped or not. Sure, you can come up with a set of rules to determine which is which, but in the end, at the borderline between one and the other, it's always subjective; it comes down to a judgment call.

My firm belief is that we are between 98-100% accurate in terms of statistics and Player Participation 80-90% accurate in terms of grading.

I'll add something else to the mix too. Whilst we're pretty happy with our ranking for say TEs in terms of pass blocking, run blocking receiving etc. on an individual level we're much less happy about the "Overall" grades and indeed debated whether or not to include them.

Never said I watched more Jets games than anyone. Got DirecTV and probably seen at least part of every Jets game, but I have no idea if I watched more or less than you.

Yes, the OL works as a cohesive unit, but it is the LT's job to protect the edge and he must adjust if he sees a DE the quality of Freeney not being blocked.

It was a mistake made by a rookie QB not to recognize Freeney was coming unblocked.

Freeney is one of the best pass rushers in the league. If he comes through unblocked, it isn't the QB's fault ever. Someone missed their blocking assignment. I just find it odd with the Colts' DEs being the strength of their defense and their DTs being the weakness that they would double team the DTs and leave Freeney unblocked by design.

The line worked exactly how it was supposed to.

Meaning Brick did nothing wrong and the sack is on the QB.

So are you saying Schotty JR. is just a clueless? No OC with any brains should leave Freeney unblocked to double any of the Colts' DTs.

PFF dedicates 70 hours a week per person watching film.

And Stats Inc does that much or more and credited Ferguson with both sacks. In fact they do such a good job at breaking down film that the league pays them to be their official stats compiler.

Sorry that you feel an unbiased party holding the same opinion I do is somehow making things up.

And another unbiased party, Stats, Inc. , disagrees with you. So what does that mean?

This is why your site is widely regarded as a joke.

Why because we understand football and have to deal with Jets trolls who come here and show their lack of football knowledge? Yes, I find the Jets trolls here a joke too.

PFF rated Brick as the 9th best LT.

Can't wait till those jokers read this thread and find out hes terrible.

;)

Yeah, and they have Sebatian Vollmer ranked 5th. So, Ferguson is the third best tackle in the AFC East.

Gotta love it when we can use Jets troll logic against them. The Pats have a better tackle than the Jets do and they finally admit it.

Vollmer > Ferguson Co-signed by Jets fans on this board.

Oops make that the fourth best tackle in the AFC East because he is behind Jake Long, Damien Woody, and Sebatian Vollmer.

Woody is strictly in as a RT, though. But the dynamite has already gone off. ;)

Who's the genius that designed a blocking scheme to leave Dwight Freeney unblocked coming at a rookie quarterback? I can guess how that ones gonna end 99% of the time.

The poster designed it as soon as he needed to come up with an excuse to explain why the reliable stats source has Ferguson allowing 8 sacks last year.
Its all been made up since then.

Most teams game plan around one of the most dominant DE's in the league to neutralize him, because if you don't account for a healthy Freeney, he will bulldoze you.

That said, I can only say that a genius like Rex Ryan would use the obviously genius strategy of leaving him unblocked.

I stand corrected.

Also, if PFF is our definitive source of skill for a position than I hope the Jets poster with Revis in his sig that says "Best defender in the league" switches it to Woodson, because hes a superior CB according to them.
