OT: AD wants to get paid

I can't remember now who it was against but I remember Adalius coming on strong and pass rushing in a desperate situation. Could it have been the Giants Super Bowl?
I wouldn't be using the play of the defense in the Giants SB as an example of how great anyone on our defense played, ESPECIALLY rushing the passer.

It isn't surprising that Thomas wants to be paid. He seems pretty clear that he believes that his decline in production is everyone's fault except himself. He still probably believes he is the same guy he was when he left Baltimore.

Personally, he might be more productive in another system, but I saw plenty of times last year when he wasn't being blocked very effectively him being pretty slow to get to the QB. He seems to have lost a bit of his burst.

Because the guy simply does not give maximum effort. I saw him humiliated and embarrassed on one play last year, and it was such a bad "owning" that he was seething with anger. On the next play, he flew around the end, used his strength to knock a OL on his butt, and hammered the QB. It was one of his few sacks of the year.

I'm not sure whether or not I found the sack you meant. I have some of the games saved to my computer but not all of them. I found his sack in the New Orleans game.

The previous play, Robert Meacham receives the ball from Brees on a dump-off pass and brilliantly side-steps a closing Thomas who is trying to make the tackle. Humiliating for Thomas, it looks really terrible.

The next play (begins at 1:21 in the 3rd) Thomas lines up on the outside shoulder of the tight end in a 2 point stance. He then runs the arc and leaves the right tackle grasping at air. Brees tries to step up into the pocket but Thomas quickly pulls him down from behind.

Does this sound right? The RT is left standing but isn't even close to stopping Thomas.

So "Toes Up" wants to get paid  .....
Let's see which GM bites.

His best bet: Washington Redskins who are converting to 3-4. There he can console Hayensworth.

Yes, that's it.

Thank you.

I remember that sequence and thought to myself, freakin' Thomas isn't even trying half the time!!!

Miami Dolphins In Depth

Adalius Thomas is on the free agent market and the talk league-wide now is that he wants to get paid.

If that is true, scratch the Dolphins from the list of teams that might be interested in him.

But if Thomas indeed wants to play the New England Patriots twice this season as is rumored, and if he is willing to play for a reasonable salary, he might make sense for the Dolphins.

Of course he'd like to get paid and start and stick it to the Pats. But he's no Brett Favre ...

Miami is not interested and has not contacted him.

Look for a reunion with Mike Singletary

Mike has one of those egos I mentioned that think they can handle anyone. Thing is AD and Mrs. AD hates the west coast. But in the end it will all come down to the benjamins.

There is no longer a Mrs AD (and that was part of his problem last year).

That was probably the result of bad coaching and misuse, too...

Just giving you the facts since yours are off base.

If you read it carefully I said 'his' problem....not the problem.

Ohhh ....

That can affect a guy a lot.

Including making him more pissy about other difficult relationships.

If he wants to play New England twice go to the Buffalo Bills AT. What a shame. His sack of Favre was one of the finest moments in the past few seasons.

AD can still play. He just wasn't trying anymore.

Yep, every year there's more and more of these guys, who had diminishing returns yet want to be the highest paid player in the league. You just know there's an agent behind him saying, "Look at the teams you've played on, you deserve $$$!!!"

and every year, the pats are returns are diminishing from the players they sign

people harp about thomas, but they returns on taylor, morris, springs are pretty diminished also....for what they are paying these 3 stiffs, they could have had a real player

bodden is the 3rd highest paid guy on the team......just sayin'

I seem to remember that his nickname was AD as in All Day. During his time here, can someone please tell me what exactly he did "All Day"?
