I propose a trade! Make that a 3-way trade:

The Rams send #1 (Bradford) to Cleveland.

Tampa Bay sends #3 (McCoy) to St. Louis.

Cleveland sends #7 (Bryant?) to Tampa Bay.

Cleveland also owes the Rams a #1 next year
and sends the Bucs a #2 this year, as well.

Unprecedented? Yes. Unlikely? You bet.
It’s improbable. Could it happen? Why not?

What is the point of this exercise in futility?

Tampa is in position to have a franchise DT slide to them. Why in the world would they trade out of this perfect position?

My2cents....I would hold back on some of your 2 cents, especially in your fantasy 3 way trade

the team that should be trying to move up for Bradford is Oakland........ Why would Tampa Bay move out of a perfect slot? Maybe Oakland gets lucky and they can take Clausen. I breathed an immense sigh of relief the raiders didn't get McNabb!

Nice dig! But it's not a prediction or opinion, just an idea, a proposition, as I clearly stated. I've yet to see why this could not happen or why this is totally illogical. Maybe I'm missing something. Anyway, the fun is in the speculation. Why hold back? And why hammer me for speculating, too?

hahahahahaha literally sums up my feeling at reading this

it's great that you're a frequent poster, and ty for posting to this thread, sincerely, but i'm not sure you've said anything.

St-Louis needs a QB!

So we're to dismiss an entire possibility based on 1 team's need?
I'm not sure that's fair,
even if we apply the "franchise QB trumps all" rule.

A franchise QB can be had in any round, not just #1 overall.
In fact, the Rams have looked hard at Clausen and Colt McCoy.

Who's to say which is the one they view as "franchise," the "experts"?
That's speculation, too, and I doubt they agree.

Oh, and, btw, lets throw in the fact that the Rams
would have landed a player (McCoy) who has just blown
them away, while also picking up a future #1, not to
mention a potential "franchise" QB in round 2. Not bad, eh?

Still not convinced? Lets talk dollars. The Lions had to
cough up 78 MILLION DOLLARS to draft Matt Stafford
#1 overall last season. That's a 20% raise over what
Atlanta had to pay Matt Ryan at #3 the year before.

IF (big "if") the Rams can land Bradford (EVEN at #3!)
with expected 20% raise of 15.6 million, that is still
93.6 MILLION DOLLARS! Who can swallow that sum?!
Especially for a QB who has an injury history and never
played a single down in the NFL? McCoy don't look half bad!

With all due respect, Sir, I believe the same can be argued about each and every one of your posts, and for all posters everywhere, for that matter.
But, to me, again, the fun is in the speculation. Why not enjoy it???

I'm not saying that they WILL or WOULD. I'm saying that they COULD.
Consider, also, that TB has sent position coaches to see WR Dez Bryant.

They've also shown interest in S Eric Berry. In fact, I'll go you one further
and say that they've shown serious interest in DT Brian Price at the top of round 2.

MAYBE they intend to double up on DT's, back to back. Then again,
maybe they have so many holes that they need to move down to fill them.

I'm sorry but that makes no sense, to me. That would require Al Davis admitting his mistake on Jamarcus Russell. But, in fact, even amid fan protests and humiliating billboards, he's stood by his selection of him.

If anything, he'd be more likely to pursue a veteran like Roethlisberger.
I think his interest in McNabb (and Jeff Garcia) clearly shows that.

I think I've previously hit on several reasons why TB would move.
Namely: HOLES! As in too many to fill. 1 guy, even a stud, can't do it.

On second thought, back to Al Davis, and forgive me for creating a
hypothetical trade within a trade here, but:

It would seem to me that the Raiders would be a serious dark horse
consideration for the services of Redskins DT Albert Haynesworth.

Throw in QB Jason Campbell, both for the Raiders top pick, and
you've solved several problems for both teams. First and foremost,
the fact that Al Davis can escape criticism for more draft failures.

Yeah, any team COULD or MIGHT do a lot of things. And given that Tampa Bay is not exactly a well run franchise, anything is possible with them. However, I personally prefer to consider only possibilities that make sense for all parties. Given how this draft is setting up, they would have to be complete and utter morons to trade out of the #3 spot! Oh, by the way, they already have 2 high 2nd round picks anyway. Stop wasting your time.

Oh, I see.
Only trades that make sense and seem fair to YOU happen in the NFL. ----LOL. No bias or prejudice there! (<----that's sarcasm).

So I guess the Bill Belichick trade, Randy Moss trade, Ryan Leaf trade, John Elway trade, McNabb trade, Roy Williams trade, Santonio Holmes trade, Ricky Williams trade, Herschel Walker trade, Steve Young trade, Brett Favre trade, Brady Quinn trade, Michael Vick trade, Randy White trade (need I go on?)...

These all made perfect sense to you and everyone here and were fair and logical and worked out magically for all parties involved? I don't think so!

You saying "stop wasting your time" isn't an argument and, I'm afraid, it adds nothing but your hate and negativity to this thread. If you want to add something productive, please start by telling me HOW and WHY this proposal
is unfair to one side or the other, or refute my facts. Otherwise you are wasting your time.

Oh, and, btw, your response assumes that Bradford is, without question, the #1 pick. Consider that
the Rams take Suh or McCoy and the Lions take the other. Somebody not named the Bucs will want Bradford (if not McCoy) at a pretty sweet price for the Bucs. Just a thought.

Not a bad theory. You are correct in that it is the speculation of doing something different that makes it fun. I am not is total agreement on this procedure but none the less, a provoking thought. Don't let them grind you.

How many on this forum would have predicted that McNabb would go to the Skins, Big Ben starts for the Rams in a swap that sends Bradford to the Steelers or Haynesworth winds up on the Patriots(.......watch this)?

DW Toys

2 Cents. I think your fantasy idea would make more sense if you didnt include the Bucs. There is no way in hell they trade McCoy. Its their new Warren Sapp. I think if you really want to go crazy you say:

STL- Bradford (to CLE) 3rd RD 2010(to SEA)

traded to

CLE- Eric Berry (to SEA) 2nd RD 2011(to STL) 5th RD 2010(to SEA)

traded to

SEA- Clausen (to STL)

It may not be Eric Berry that CLE takes, but you damn well believe it will be someone Carrol wants. and he is gonna get 2 late round picks just for being a dic k and taking Clausen a pick early

If the Rams wanted McCoy why wouldn't they just draft him #1 although McCoy probably won't even get drafted in the 1st round. Late 1st round at best. The Rams are getting rapped in this deal they are trading #1 for #7 for a #1 next year. Teams are going to want to wait a year to draft a franchise Qb and thats what Bradford is. Nice idea, but not very logocial IMO
