I like Danny Clark as an option. Can/does he play S/T's?

I think we would do if asked...he would also be a great replacement for Seau when he's not on the field...Clark is a run stopper like Seau but alot younger!

Comment:
Is a late-bloomer with very good quickness. Is an above average athlete with adequate-to-good speed. Shows a nose for the ball as a pass rusher and run defender. Has very good anticipation skills. Is a smooth pass rusher with good COD skills. Must improve his bulk and lower body strength. Will get pushed around too much when reached by bigger OL.

Good special teams player.
Good info, what can you dig up on the players the Steelers dropped? LB Richard Seigler, LB Ron Stanley.

Another WR to consider is Ed Hinkel cut by the Colts....

Thats not to bad is it?
Not for an ILB, my read of his strengths and weakness is he would be better in a 3-4 system, which may be why he has been phased out in favor of Kirk Morrison (SD State).

I'm not suprised Kirk Morrison is a great LBer

I'd love to see them pick up Danny Clark; he would be a good addition as a back up/situation player and also on STs. He's good against the run inside and that would help to solidify our core up the middle.

I also agree that Chad Brown may be back when he is healthy. He can help as well, but more for the outside.

I agree,,,remember the hand injury??? That will take awhile to heal..a month..I think he returns after a few weeks..see what happens..will be VERY interesting!!

I'm still a bit shocked Oakland released Clark... the guy is big with decent speed, a good tackler and a high motor player... even as a backup, what more could you ask for? I'd absolutely like to see the Pats take a flier on this guy, He may be able to slide into a TJ style role in the defense, playing some first and second downs and stuffing the run, before coming off the field for passing situations. And unlike Monty Beisel, he's already proved he can produce at the linebacker position for an NFL team.

Thanks, BPF, for the Scouts, Inc. info.

Thanks, Pats1 for the link; it's now part of my Favorites list.

Looks like we are all in agreement re: Danny Clark. He doesn't have to be an in-space defender; we have Seau, Vrabel and Bruschi (and Alexander?) for that role. If he can fill gaps, take on and shed blockers, and make tackles, that would be perfect.

p.s.: the panthers released Kevin (son of Julius) Adams. He's not a big LB - 5'11", 225# - but he would be a huge upgrade on STs over the fossils Izzo and Davis.
