Aaron Wilson: Sources: Pats leader to land Boldin [UPDATE: PATS PULL OUT]

I really hope that the reason we pulled out is NOT because of the contracts talks. Boldin only signed a 4 year, 28 Million dollar contract(10 mil guar.). He's getting 7 mil a year, and we gave TBC 4.5 mil a yr maybe 6 mil....are you serious? Boldin would have been @ least 2 times more valuable then TBC will be next year.

10 million gurantee... !! that is cheap... Its a mistake, but its over ...

Re: Aaron Wilson: Sources: Pats leader to land Boldin [Schefter: Deal close, BAL or K

And whats wrong with that people on this board have gotten to the point that on every deal your trying not to pay market value to these guys. The Pats are in trouble no one is taking discounts to come here or stay here unless they are 33 and up.
We're one of the richest teams in the league... BB shouldn't be trying to get guys to play at a discount.

Tom Condon is his agent. We all know how things worked out the last time the Pats tried to negotiate with hime. I wonder if he might have been part of the problem. Maybe he asked for more from us than Baltimore? Just thinking outside the box. I am very disappointed. Boldin would have been a good pick up. :(

It's going to be one of those offseasons.
Break out the beer! :eat2:

I'm not going to drive a stake into the offseason yet. However, I'm not going to lie, I was hoping the Pats would be immediate players in free agency. Especially after BB's presser the week after the blowout loss to Baltimore. As of right now, we're just watching as teams snatch up other free agents which would have been of HUGE assistance to us at areas of need. I still haven't entered the angry stage yet. Right now, I'm hovering in the "disappointment" stage.

Disappointment is about where most fans will be when they see what we could have got Boldin for.:(

Terrell Owens can save us.

ARE WE SLEEPING!?!?!?!?! This was the steal of FA and we could've gotten him. unbelievable, just 7 mil a year

I agree, but we don't know everything that entered into this. The possible scenarios are endless. Hopefully it's because the Pats need every penny of that money for another [non-jag] player or players whom they are negotiating with......hopefully

I agree that the TBC contract is a bit of a shocker. Obviously BB sees a lot in him--more than TBC even showed us last year.

I know the Pats did not land either Peppers or Boldin

So regardless of what took place I'm not pleased

Who cares if you are pleased or not. People like yourself are the ones who think that throwing money at the situation solves it automatically. And your wrong 90% of the time.

The fact that you think that what happened shouldn't matter is just asinine on your part. Plain and Simple. It totally discounts the other parts of the equation. In the case of Boldin, it's Boldin and the Cardinals.

put T.O next to moss and i bet he puts up biger numbers then boldin dose with the ravens.

There are going to be teams who will offer him more. Bungles. cough cough

Yeah great. Let's sign another guy in the waning years of his career for 1 year. It worked out so great with Galloway. I want a young legit weapon across from Moss, not a guy at the end of the line who has been considering retirement the past two seasons.

Then Boldin isn't the answer since he's 30 and has been injured every year of his career. Including the two where he missed no games.

Ahhh damn, the Ravens got a hell of a deal. Hopefully we can at least get Mason.

IMO it's over "the run" I have no confidence in there drafting and procurement of players by this team anymore and that was before Pioli left. The reason we are the way we are is because of the 06,07,08 drafts where we pretty much got nothing. Your suppose to hit on your 1st round picks if your any good at recognizing talent, but the Pats think they are smarter than everyone else, we will keep on trading first round picks for second rounders which business wise is a great move the problem is you have to be able to draft well and thats where the failure is so far.

i could see cincy offering him 5 million a year same money nate burleson, just got.

I don't think we really need another big name old WR. Kevin Walter or someone like that would be good. People who are expecting SB this year need to get realistic. This team will probably fall short of last years. At least we'll have Julio Jones next year, thanks to Mr. Davis.

Why are you so conservative?
