He last played in 2008 in 5 games for the Saints. He had 11 catches. He played a full season in 2007, with 54 catches in 16 games.

welcome back Reptile!

There's no way David Patten makes this team.

Well.... that's weird.

Is it possible this is just a "retire as a Patriot" move?

If he can catch a football in practice I don't see how he could be any worse than Aiken, Stanback or those other guys who are so bad I can't remember their names

Even if he runs a 5.5 forty he couldn't be worse than them

David Patten back to Patriots According to Pats Facebook

According to the Patriots official Facebook Patten has been signed back to the Pats. Any conformation on this and details?

That wooshing sound was the joke flying right over your head.

Maybe we signed him to mentor the young WR's in Training Camp

Can they do this before March 5th? Is that because he was out of football last year so he's not subject to the Free Agency period?

No really, I doubt he makes the team. I would have loved this signing...3 years ago :/

I can see Patten at his age and not really playing the last couple of years being a hell of a lot worse than Aiken who was serviceable despite being in a position he shouldn't have been in being the 2nd WR.

Maybe they can lure big "Hog" Hannah out of retirement. :singing:

My three favorite Patten Pats memories:
-- TD vs Rams in SB 36
-- TD from Bledsoe in AFCCG vs Steelers
-- Unconscious fumble recovery (touched ball while out of bounds) vs Bills

If this is a joke, its not funny

If this is real, BB really needs to stop the hire the old guy at value sh!t...its not working

Moss better be the oldest WR on this team opening day.....seriously

Maybe we should see what JR Redmond is doing nowadays as well.....

Wiggy?... TB... We're gettin' the band back together.

Why I like it: He brings much needed leadership and a knowledge of of how to win ball games
Why I don't like it: He's probably the #6 or #7 WR on this team.

Are we sure he didn't sign with the Pats with a one-day contract so he can retire?
