Eh, I always saw Thomas playing a more traditional tight end role. But I do agree about injuries definitely being a factor in his time with us.

I could be wrong. I can't say they've really used the talent at TE efficiently. Graham had stone hands, but he was the only one that really hit that wham play.

I can't say they've really figured out what to do with some fairly high picks at TE and a pretty effective receiving back in Evans. Just seems that whole bruising FB, versatile FB, high pick TE situation has never been settled. I hate to live in the past, but since Weiss, I don't see us comfortable in anything but multiple receiver sets.

I miss it. The little stuff like that is what moves the chains and keeps the QB off his ass.

What has kept the QB off his ass has been keeping the tight ends in to block. Don't know the stats but I'd bet the Pats throw to the TE's less than any other team.

What used to keep the quarterback off his ass was keeping the defense off balance. You can keep extra lineman in if all they need are blockers. Certainly don't need 2 first round picks for blocking tight ends.

Trading Thomas for a 7th rounder was a big mistake.

Guy was never given enough time due to injuries.

Yet we have Crable and others in the hot tub for 3 years.
