Who are still in the NFL could make this team today.

I will start off with an easy one and say Richard S from the Raiders.

I can think of several more.

A.Samuel of the Eagles could make this team today.

What about R.Gay and D.Thomas of the Saints?

I was just thinking the same thing -- we gave away one really good corner (Samuel) and a serviceable one (Gay). Imagine having Samuel, Bodden and Gay right now, plus Dave Thomas. Damien Woody, too.

seymour,

samuel,

hobbs,

vrabel,

gaffney,

Daniel Graham,

Heath Evans,

ty law,

Damien Woody,

Gay would be great, Samuel and Seymour would help to I am guessing.

Dave Thomas caught more passes in this game than he ever caught as a Patriot.

Vrable and Branch may not even be in the NFL next year, and Ty Law has been below replacement level since about 2007.

Matt Cassell... JK haha. Woody, Gay, Milloy, Samuel, Branch, Gafney, Graham.

Ummm pretty much anybody who's still in the NFL and not injured would have a decent chance to make the team. Not sure the point of this

Oh stop it.

What ???

I thought this would be an interesting discussion.

I don't imagine there is a search engine on the internet to search how many active players in the NFL were playing while starting somewhere else.

The Patriots may have enough players out there to have a 2nd team.

Randall freaking Gay ... going to the Super Bowl ... imagine that.

Yeah, it's been all down hill since we lost Randall Gay.

Yeah, it's been all down hill since we lost Randall Gay.

Gotta admit, he did play pretty good tonight. Most of the completions on him, he was righ there in coverage but the throw was just too good.

David Thomas showed how valuable he could be. Playing the H-back position and making key blocks and catching some nice balls.

As I recall he performed OK for us in SB 39.

Randall has a knack for being in the right place at the right time.

He's from Baton Rogue ... an undrafted FA ... he's done well.

Now he gets a chance to help win the 1st ever for the home team.

Wish we had that choice back ... but ... can't win them all.

I'd like to resign Bodden, I'm excited about Butler and Wilhite and Wheatley are cheap while they're on their rookie contracts. I think our three young safeties will get better the nore they play together.

I like Thomas myself, but he had a foot injury and sometimes they don't heal well. Deion welched on his contract, screwed the team and I'm quite happy to have gotten a first for him that became Meriweather. He can suck a bottle of bleach as far as I'm concerned.

Damien "Wimpy" Woody. the fatass center that can't snap? Yeah I miss having to monitor his weight every time the team bus stops near a Burger King.

Long term contract for Seymour? Let's check back on this when our first round pick is rounding into his prime and Oakland is still paying him instead of us. Love Seymour's contribution, he played hard and played hurt. There was a lot more wrong with this team than Seymour. We're at as crossroads in terms of desire and focus. another player unhappy with his contract wouldn'y have healed us.

Gaffney hurt, I was a big Gaffney fan. Nevertheless, he's not a superstar, he got a big contract and we needed a versatile receiver or two to replace losses. We wiffed, it happens. Guys like him are available if we scout well. We've been hit or miss with receivers for a while, often doing better with low picks. Maybe our new OC can help us choose more wisely.

Vrabel, c'mon it's time. Samuel better save his money, he stole half of it. Hobbs, yeah BB just couldn't pass up those 5ths.

On and on. With a salary cap and a talented team we're going to cut some players that can play. Not worth worrying about. How about San Fran handing us TBC back? Vollmer wasn't a bad pick, was he?

Time to look forward, not back I say.

That's the problem. Thomas never played the H-back role for us.

I think he did some. He was just injured and never played much or got much attention passing wise compared to Watson.
