Good things that happen if the Jets beat the Colts

Just seen Fat @ss on 10:00 news here in NY. I defiantly hate him more then Manning. I'm pulling for Saints to beat Indy in Super Bowl.

I can root for the Jets if it means the Krafts will spend a little more on free agents and not letting their own players walk.

if the fact that they are now home watching dose not piss them off then anything the jets or colts do means noting.

BB all redy knew they where not the team to beat when the fish won the east last year. and they still bring in over the hill vets that did noting for the team. still only sign JAG free agents. and again did not draft a OLB cause no one was 6.5 270lbs

i do think the pats will get better next year cause i am a fan thats all i can do is hope my team will get better every year. but don't look for the pats to stop runing things the way they have for the last 10 years just because the jets made it to the SB.

I hate the Jets more for sure. But I like your thinking and will pull for the Jets. (I will probably get hives or something, but that's life)

Since I live in Jets territory, it is unreal how many "closet" Jets fans there are here right now. Jets bandwagon is pretty full around here.

Here is how this is going to play out:

1) Jets lose to the Colts with Revis getting called for pass interference 7 times. Tubby declares the Jets the Super Bowl favorites for next year and makes disappointment in 2010 almost a certainty.

2) Vikings lose to the Saints with Favre throwing 3 interceptions in the first half before getting injured and taken out of the game just before halftime with the score at 28-0 to the Saints. Tavaris Jackson steps in and and throws for 250 yards in the second half bringing the Vikings back from the dead but just not being able to get enough done and losing 42-35 with a 148 passer rating but becomes an instant hero with the Vikings fans and leaving Favre with no option but to announce his retirement. Reggie Bush (the only jerk-wad on the Saints) tears his achilles, ACL, MCL and larynx on the same play and is unable to participate in or talk about the Super Bowl.

3) The Colts lose to the Saints in a blowout and we all get to see the apex Manning face against a backdrop of fireworks and confetti.

So to sum up...The city of New Orleans gets a needed boost, Goober gets a gut punch, Favre teases another city but inevitably tears out their heart yet again, and the Jets set themselves up for a biblical letdown in 2010. Sounds about right to me.
Personally I like Favre but if you really want the dream scenario including bad things for Favre I think this 2) is a better scenario.

I can NEVER NEVER NEVER root for the JETS ... ever!

For me to have them this close to a conference championship gives
me CONSTANT NIGHTMARES.

Fat man with big loud mouth, loud mouth players and loud mouth FANs.
I CAN NOT STAND these newyourkers!!!!! I am hoping the Colts
score BIB BIG BIG!!!! and they keep these loud mouths to less than 10 points! zero would be better!

I would add the curse of the Super Bowl loser to the list of 'good things' should the Jets or Colts advance and get beaten. Statistically the loser rarely makes the playoffs the following year so its a win-win for us 'if' the NFC team wins this year.

On the plus side, one team will lose this Sunday. We have that going for us.

Yes- precisley my dear Watson! The dreaded Super Bowl loser curse.
Much more likely the Jets would lose the SB than the Dolts (against whomever wins NFC). So instead of Jets losing this weekend - and getting the feeling of sad but still 'being on the way up - just wait til next season' positive mentality. It is better for us if instead the Jets win this weekend and (will certainly lose in SB)- Jets get the dreaded Super bowl loser mentality - choked in the big game. How could it have been if only......blah, blah, blah...Which will affect the players next year and their fans for years to come! I love it. Plus we can taunt the Jests fans for losing the SB just like they do to us now for 2007. And even better, for the Jests to lose to Lord Favres Vikings - DELICIOUS! This scenario gets better every minute.

Furthermore what has also been mentioned, the Jets players all wanting more money, lower draft order (#31 to losers) and such. Whomever the Jets play in SB - either Vikings or especially Saints would be the choice of most of the rest of the nations fans.

But wait - there's MORE! You also get....

the great things about the Colts losing THIS weekend. In their own building: hearing the silence of the crowd; seeing the disgusted looks on the players faces and their heads down as the cameras zoom in; seeing the shock of the crying fans with their # 18 jerseys on. That will bring a smile to my face. We get to see the sad distraught fans of the Colts this weekend, and then the upset fans of the Jets in 3 weekends. THAT IS GREAT ENTERTAINMENT for me.

And for all the Colts players, coaches and FO to know that they brought this wrath onto themselves for laying down to die in week 16. For chickening out instead of playing all out -going for football immortality. Knockout - score 1 for bad karma. Don't EVER mess with the football gods! Play the game with integrity you sniveling Colts (aka. weasels). I hope Colts get beaten so bad - they have to be sent to the glue factory to be put out of their misery.

It is a PERFECT SETUP on all sides. This scenario will mentally negatively impact BOTH Jets and Colts fans/players for years to come.

I NEVER thought I would say this but due to the original reasoning in this thread and my above points:

GO JETS! (Then GO SAINTS / VIKINGS!)

Comeon Sadist Pats fans everywhere - UNITE!

NOTHING good comes out of ANY Jets win.
NOTHING, and I hate Polian almost as much as Rexxy the Reject.

Beautiful irony that last year Favre was their QB !

Perfect 10 irony of ironies; this would be to PoLyin what spygate will be to BB. PoLyin would never live this one down.

If the Green Beans beat Indy, it will forever haunt the Dolts for having literally spawned their own demise by letting them into the playoffs. All Indy had to do was beat them a few weeks ago and Jersey would've been eliminated en route to a perfect season. It will forever tarnish Polian's legacy and wreck Manning's quest for a second ring. I want the Beans to beat Indy and then get slaughtered in the Super Bowl by New Orleans. To me, that's the best of all possible outcomes.

That would be so ironic! I think I like that scenario. Colts get eliminated by the Jets, whom they laid down against in the regular season, then the Saints blow out the Jets in the Superbowl in embarrassing fashion!

Like it or not, the Jets are the odds-on favorites to win our division for the next couple of years, assuming they can hold it together. Sanchez has improved and will only get better. Every thing else is in place.

Sanchez has proven NOTHING except that he knows how to play like a rookie that isn't ready for the Big Time yet, they won IN SPITE of having that chump throwing it to the other team..
Well that and Polian being a dumbass....
Their defense is good though, I think it blows that the Pats D sux in comparison.
