Rebuilding plan

Gentlemen, we can rebuild this team. We have the technology. We have the capability. We can make it better than it was before. Better, stronger, faster.

- CB signing bodden is your big item. then springs and bodden along with wilhitte ,butler and wheatley are it. If you see wilhitte and butler [pass interference everytime he stepped in] was caused but playing the WR and not the ball .It experience thing. wilhitte will be our slot guy and butler/spring share one side. Use arrington and wheatley to backup bodden.

-OLB Draft a DE and LB . that is all can you do. we spend 2 draft picks on burgess and Banta is a FA .A reason i believe thomas will return.

-DL - Brace need to step as he is the only one who has the size to play end.

- Vince if he is franchised say Bye Bye. I will not support the patriots on a contract which is not legal now. He has played for 6yrs and either pay him or let him walk and get a pay day.

offence

- Gaurds we need one badly or get a tackle and move vollmer inside .Our right side is a major issue and if neal retires i will try him at gaurd with kazur as the RT.Our pressure is coming from the inside from the right gaurd position all season.

- 2 WR. We need 2 guys. Just fast outside guys with good hands.

- Resign BEN. a situation where we need to break in 2 WR and 2 RB so keep the guys around to keep some continuity.ALso he is 26 and played 5yrs too on another long contract which cannot be signed now.

Great lemme know when they roll out that technology. Right now it looks like this team needs a replacement for a heart more than anything else. We're off to see the wizard! (Or maybe we're just drafting Rolando McClain?)

2. No way to TO. If you think AD is bad, TO is 10x as cancerous and at this stage of his career is in decline. He accomplished nothing in Buffalo. Sure his QB sucked but still, he never stepped up or showed that he could 'lead the way' either. So 100x NO to TO.

A WR can't 'lead the way' if his QB is god awful and never looks to him. Check these stats:

Terrell Owens | #81 | WR
  • 859 yards
  • 5 TDs
  • 15.1 yard average
  • Off only 55 receptions

All this with Trent Edwards at QB and constant double coverages? He is easily the best FA WR currently available and would instantly provide Moss with the help he needs to get open. As far as the cancer claims... He had every reason to cause trouble at Buffalo but he didn't... Do you really think Belichick or Brady would tolerate any of his occasional nonsense? Of course they wouldn't and TO knows this.

He is a must-sign, imo... Especially when you consider that he is likely to come cheap.

Why would you let Matt Light walk?

Who do you start at LT/RT next season? Kaczur again?

You let Matt Light Walk because he is making far too much money and there is a cheaper replacement in Volmer who is only going to get better.

Yes Kaczur starts at right tackle.

-When you say draft a DB, do you mean a corner? Because I think they're all set at safety. At corner, they'll probably re-signed Bodden and they drafted Butler in the 2nd last year.

I mean a corner or db. Both probably would be later round selections, unless a top level talent like Joe Hayden Javier Arenas (who would solve out return woes)

-Tate is the NCAA career leader in return yards, and had some good returns for the Pats this year before he got hurt.

I'm hopeful he will come back full strength but after having two knee surgeries in two years I am skeptical.

-Arrington is already signed through 2010, and will still be an ERFA after that.

I thought that since they signed him from the practice squad they could only offer him a one year deal. I guess I was wrong.

Also I forgot to mention resign Faulk, and TBC. Also Watson could be instrumental part of our team if we start running the ball more as well as spreading the ball around. So we should bring him back as well.

In looking out to next year and a few years after, my gut tells me that they need to focus on making the running game more of a focus- as opposed a compliment to the offense. Thinking that the team will want to maximize Brady's career, they may want to have a running game be more of a emphasis as opposed to being a compliment.

The thought of Brady dropping back w/o Welker for a few weeks next year makes me a little nervous. In addition, Moss will be 33 in Feb. He is still productive, but you must wonder how much top-level production he has left.

At the start of the season TO complained a lot. Usually when he wears out his welcome is in the second year of his contract so if he signed with the Pats it might only be a matter of time before he complains. Because the Bills don't get that much coverage we didn't really hear about all the whining he did this season.

In the past I would say this is a great idea, but the days of the Patriots having a strong locker room that can assimilate problem players is over. The current locker room lacks the veteran leadership needed to add a player like TO. I'm going to have to pass.

.

I disagree the biggest problem we had was inside pressure coming over neal , dan conley side.

I will move vollmer inside to Neal position next year. None of other players have shown they can play. See the ravens and texans game vollmer got handled as now with more game tape he has issue with speed. Mario williams crashed him and then last week Johnson was on brady face and vollmer was no where to be found.

i will put him at RG where he will also handle size of 3-4 end leaving kaz to do his thing

Did you by any chance, you know, watch Kaczur at RT this year?

did you see vollmer move to RT at houston and mario moved over and crashed inside all game

did you see last week johnson on brady face on the RT side when vollmer was in there.

It's not "rebuilding", it's a "transition"? Didn't you get the memo?

Only bad teams have to "rebuild", we're GOOD/GREAT so we just "transition".

Get rid of the dead wood like Green and Thomas.

Unfortuantely getting a "stud" DE isn't cheap or easy. They were supposed to have been developing them, but they fell asleep at the wheel, and the bus has crashed.

Complained a lot!? Are you serious? You're going to have to get me some links because the only thing I remember hearing him say was he "goes with the plays that are called" and that was really it. I did keep up with a lot of the news on TO, as he was in my Fantasy team, and I don't recall hearing much of anything negative out of his mouth about his teammates.

In any event, this isn't a troublesome player who has off the field issues. This is a player who expects his teammates to try as hard as he does every week and is known to get volatile when his teammates aren't putting in the effort.

That sounds like the sort of player we need. Someone who gives 110% every week. He is easily the best FA WR we can go get right now and he will come cheap. I say sign him to a one year deal similar to the one we gave Randy.

Of course, Tom would have to be comfortable having TO on the team first before any decisions could be made.

If you're trying to convince me that Vollmer is as much a liability as Kaczur, you're not doing a very good job of it.

Any rebuilding, transitioning, whatever will start with the owner.

Will Bob Kraft permit BB to sign or re-sign any players to expensive,

long term contracts? He stated earlier that he would not until the

CBA situation was settled. If not, the best the Patriots could do would be

to franchise Wilfork and tender offers to RFAs Mankins and Gostkowski.

They would be left to fill any vacancies thru the draft and signing

free agents to short term contracts.

Bob Kraft has never had any problem spending money. He's turned Gillette Stadium into a serious cash cow and has never had any issues with spending up to the salary cap limit.

He also cares about winning. A lot. He's a smart guy that is far more in tune to the deficiencies of this team than any of us as fans are and given all that I'd say it's almost a foregone certainty that the Patriots will be spending some money this offseason. I wouldn't expect them to sign a glut of high profile free agents but they'll certainly be in on a couple, and probably sign one.

Bob Kraft has never faced an uncertain labor situation like this.

The owners seem to want a lockout to break the player's union.

I don't think you are too far off on this statement, but not necessarily the owners wanting to break the back of the players. Many small/mid market teams who depend on revenue sharing will be seriously compromised financially w/o those extra dollars and those teams who can generate a tremendous amount of revenue on their own (see Dallas, WASH, NE) have a legitimate beef.

The owners need to get their house in order before they can deal with the players.

I remember baseball having a lockout and spending the next 5 years trying to recover the lost fan base. Nobody wins in a lockout, especially the owners who have to sit on all this property and infrastructure they built up for their team and then receive no money for because there is no team to use it.
