I want the last 5 years of my life back

Please stop cheering for my team. Don't hurt yourself jumping off the bandwagon.

Now everyone knows what its like to be a Colts, Steeler, Eagles, Saints, and Vikings fan. You don't go to the SB or deep into the playoffs every year. Most times your not even considered SB matterial like the Pats have for all these years.

No kiddin!
My first game was at Hahvid Stadium.
I remember freezing my arse off on the aluminum bench while Tony FREAKING EASON was our quarterback! Don't even get me started on the frustration of the Bledsoe years and the loss to the Packers!

Pink hats and wagon jumpers need to get off this bus and become Saints or Vikings fans. The door is wide open, and I'm not going through it. Don't let it hit you on the arse on the way out!

Belichick puts this team in Super Bowl contention virtually every year

Let's put this in perspective: since the start of the 2001 season, there have been ZERO games where the Patriots have been out of playoff contention.

In the NFL a team can only dominated for a period of time until someone knows what you are doing and then everybody will come after you. Since the we lost the SB to the Giants, BB and Brady weaknesses had been exposed and the rest of the NFL saw there is a way to beat the Patriots, so there is no secret about it anymore and everybody gather up and try to do the same thing.

Plus, now there are many young and inexperience players, so they have A LOT to learn and grow. The way I see it is, until BB come up with new schemes and young players had grown, this team is just another better team, not he best. I think we can make to playoffs, but not all the way though. And as Brady getting older each year, you can see from the far horizon that the Patriots are on the descending.

Yeah and I want the first 30-odd back before Belichick showed up. If you whine about being in contention every year for a decade, God knows how you're gonna cope with the next McPhereson or Carroll era.

Fan up dude.

Thanks man, I needed a wake up call. Ran into a friend who is a Panthers fan... life is rough for them.
Funny headline from week 1 - Panthers, Delhomme back in playoff form - CharlotteObserver.com

After all this, it will be even sweeter when the Pats knock off the Colts and crush Lord Favre in the Superbowl.

Very disappointed, the window of opportunity to get Brady 5 rings in closing fast. All the talk about 'value' and organizational depth doesn't mean a thing, Superbowls are what counts.

The Patriots are not one of the big dogs this year, another run of the mill slightly better than average season. Lets hope for a playoff miracle.

Sure, you can get those five years back. BUT, you have to spend them as a fan of Jets/Bills/Dolphins/Lions/Browns/Jaguars/Falcons/Bucs/Raiders/Seahawks/Chiefs/Panthers/Redskins/Packers/49ers. Take your pick, then look in the mirror and admit how spoiled you are.

This is exactly why the Patriots don't think in terms of "windows."

Every single game that Brady (or Wilfork or . . .) could be his last. Operating on the "Win now" mentality is an easy ticket to blowing up a franchise a couple of years down the road.

I'd rather the Patriots be contenders every year and win once every few years or so than see them adopt a "win now" mentality and then have to pay the piper and turn into the JEST.

Sums up my thoughts. We're way too spoiled.

The other argument is when you have studs like Brady and Moss why not maximize your chances to win SB's while you are lucky enough to have them? Once they are gone you might not see another duo like them ever again!

And by that time BB will have a killer defense in place to where an average offense will suffice.

Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. It's about time we shed the pink hats from the bandwagon. Maybe the stadium will be loud again in Foxboro.

Wow. What a terrible thread. Someone needs to go back to the Carroll years and start appreciating what this team has done in this decade, Super Bowls or not. I'll agree that this team did not look good last night, but I have thoroughly enjoyed rooting for them in the past five years.

Really? Wow..

But if this was the only thing in that you've lived for these last 5 years then I feel bad for you then.

There is more to life than sports, just ask the players who actually play the games; they move on, it's a game after all

Exactly. What has this team done in the past five years? Meltdown to the Colts in the AFC Championship game? Choke in the super bowl? Lose the East to Miami last year? Get beat down by an inferior Jets team who smacked them in the mouth? Choke to the Broncos? Meltdown to the Colts again? Get destroyed by the Saints? They've lost all of their games to major competitor's this year (with the exception of the Jets). What happened to the past five years of draft picks? Chad Jackson, anyone?

Point is, these are not your mother's Patriots anymore. It hasn't been two or even three years since they have last done something substantial. It's been five. They are no longer a measuring stick for the rest of the league. Patriot's fans will blast me for this - and I've been a fan for a long long time. I've never openly been this down on the Pats this decade but sometimes you need to call a spade a spade. All of the people who are waiting for the 2001, 2003, and the 2004 Patriots to come walking through that door are going to be severely disappointed. We have been waiting for this team to "turn the corner" all year...We've been waiting for them to show signs of 2007 and years past - and we're not seeing it. Their not winning gritty, tough, hard fought games. Their not beating teams that they traditionally beat...esp. being the underdogs last night. I'm sorry - but when Drew Brees & the Saints average 20 yards a throw and you allow the Colts to come back by 17 in a quarter, something is wrong.

I hope they prove me wrong...but based on the past five years, I have no reason to think otherwise.

Let's look back to when it all started to decline for the Pats.....Maybe they need the videos cameras back...aint done jack after...does make you kinda wonder......just sayin'

I want those 5 years back too because I'd be 5 years younger.

Yeah, they only went to the Superbowl and were 30 seconds from winning it, nothing at all as opposed to 2002 and 2005 when the cameras made them world beaters  Seriously, GFY

Just saying after the league got involved..........not much, heck look, even the Colts got there once without cameras...so maybe the Pats did too

Troll. Unintelligent one at that...just keep repeating what you hear on TV and you'll be accepted and loved, right?

So what you are saying is..the Pats didn't use cameras to video opposing teams? That the media is just telling the general public that? And it is just some kind of anti-Pats/Kraft theory?

Spygate and the team's decline have nothing to do with each other.

This is silly.
