Saints fans are taking this game WAY too seriously

Not so fast...you KNOW this game means MORE to the PATRIOTS than the Saints... you NEED this win to say above Miami..MImai is on your butt. The Saints would "benefit" from this win, morally...Kep the PATS in check, that the 2007 Pats are done and over...bye bye...that's all. Chargers Colts, Bengals an Broncos all stand in the way of the Patriots to go deep in the playoffs...No one stands in the way of the Saints......No one.

I have to disagree with this post. Brett Favre Brett Favre Brett Favre. The Saints have to stay ahead of the Vikings to keep the Brett Favre dam from breaking wide open.

Speaking of Lord Favre, if it comes down to Vikes and Saints for the NFC
.... I am a Saints fan!
(I wouldn't be surprised if Farve faked his injury, which really as an old
injury, that lead the JETs to releasing him. )

But tonight it's the PATs turn to make believers of all Saints doubters.
Go PATs!!!!

I too have been reading the Saints message boards.

In fact I saw this thread referenced on one of their boards.

It's all pretty funny. I guess maybe Patriots fans were like this in 2001, but I don't remember.

The Saints fans remind me a lot of Panthers fans back when the Panthers were in the Superbowl.

The obsession with what the national media thinks of the team and who is predicting what outcome is pretty funny.

They view it as a Yankee bias, I can't say they're "wrong" per se in that the northeast does get more coverage than most of the country but the funny thing is that I know I personally, and I believe most of this board, hates ESPN.

"You're all a bunch yahoos, hero worshipers and gutless suck-ups." - Tony Massarotti .

Regarding your Tony Massarotti signature....what a line of crap from a pencil-neck geek! You'd think he was actually manly.

as I have said, I spent over 2 years in New Orleans and root for the Saints in the NFC. However some of the things being said just ruffles my feathers, so to speak. They have a thread on saintsreport about what tomorrow morning's headlines will be for the game.

What may be worse is the thread over there entitled "Dynastic Change" in which the poster states:
"New Orleans - February 3, 2001 a dynasty is born in the Superdome.

New Orleans - November 30, 2009 the baton is passed to the next dynasty."

I mean its going to be a great game, but it is not comparable to a super bowl win. They haven't won anything yet and I don't understand why the Saints fans think the Patriots will all of a sudden become irrelevant if they lose this game.

EDIT: beat me too it redsox :D

Great quote from my brother on the SOSH Pats board:

"Half that city is going to commit suicide if the Patriots win. If the Saints win half of the city will die of alcohol poisoning. "

New Orleans City Hall is going to close today at 3pm because of the game because of "pregame preparations and anticipated traffic." Seems pretty big down there.

The Jets had their Superbowl, now it's time for the Saints to have theirs.

Just what I was thinking. At least with the Jets* it was a division game. The Saints have pretty much wrapped up their division, and the Pats aren't even in the same conference.

Dynasty? Really? Wow, that talk is a bit premature.... they might want to win a playoff game first, then maybe a Superbowl, and then another SB. Then they can START to talk about dynasty. But then still a 3rd SB in a decade i think is probably the main qualification for a dynasty. As much as I hate them the Steelers might have a bit of a head start on em for the next dynastic team. I mean, this is a big game... should be a great game, but it really doesn't mean all that much when it comes down to it.

This stupid thread is still going? I was going to comment on its lameness about 4 posts in. Fans are taking a game too seriously? They've sucked forever, and this is huge stuff for them--what, are we so important and wonderful that getting excited is beneath us? Sports are supposed to be fun, and they're having a ball with it. Good for them, and let this thread die.

Saints fans make Jest fans look smart

We have our share of those types as well ..

Jeez, why shouldnt they enjoy it. That city and football team has had its share of **** the last few years

Good afternoon gang!I have a couple of questions concerning tonights game-perhaps you can help me out??

After the game when the head coaches greet each other do you think that BB will do the now infamous look away handshake to Sean Payton??I find it quite disrespectful.

Second question-Do you think that Brady will be pointing at a defender that falls down 3 feet in front of him looking for the flag...again??

Nobody cares to chime in???Interesting indeed one might say.

Here's a little something that I noticed while in beantown recently and I have a few questions that perhaps you can help me out with.
While driving around I noticed that every vehicle ,yes I said every vehicle that I saw had all those tacky team logo stickers from every team that plays in boston. Is it a state law to be so tacky??

What do you know, middle school gets out at 3:30 in Louisiana.

Hello JMT-I have my Doctorate but still don't understand the look away hand shake or the Brady pee pee dance.Lets not forget all the tacky team logo stickers either.

Perhaps you could enlighten us or do you choose to just spout off about nothing??

While Simpleton here tries to figure out what I just said to him maybe somebody else would care to chime in??

99.99% of us choose to talk about football.

Since your doctorate appears to be attempting to bait people with petty name calling, you might find a more receptive audience for your childish games at espn.com.
