Why do you hate the Colts?

because Bill Polian cheats and gets away with it every week. He owns the comp comittee. The overlord chanced rules to prevent physical cb play to benefit his team, and colts getting phantom PI calls, pipe in noises.... the list goes on.

Manning's a dillweed. Great football player, but ugh... winer.

"I absolutely CANNOT STAND the sound of their radio play-by-play announcer's voice."

this. easily the most annoying announcer in football

a. I've hated Manning since his days @ Tennessee. (Gator fan here) It sickens me how everyone treats him like a friggen saint.

b. Dungy, I don't know why, but that self righteous prick has always irritated me.

c. Bill Polian... nuff said.

d. That farce we call the 2006 AFCCG. Manning would still be known as a colossal choker if not for the ridiculous display by the officiating crew in that game.

I respect good teams like the Colts and enjoy hard fought games but I hate them because of the AFCCG. Its not that they just beat us. Its the way they beat us. I could accept the loss the the Giants because it was a hard fought game but i still get mad when i think about that afccg. I was freaking celebrating at half time and then to like almost having a nervous breakdown by seeing our 18 point lead slowly chip away and let the Colts have the greatest playoff comeback in history.

I don't hate the Colts. I like Peyton Manning and Dallas Clark.

I can't stand the Colts or their fans, but, I also can't stand that god forsaken stadium that the taxpayers have to pay for.

Here's another reason to NOT to go to that friggen barn:

13 Investigates reviewed more than 2,000 food inspection reports for the stadium's first year of operation and discovered dozens of citations, hundreds of critical safety violations and thousands of dollars in fines for Centerplate food service.

“We did find a large number of violations,” said Ed Culver, head administrator for the Marion County Health Department’s Food Safety Division. “We don't give fines very often, but when the situation calls for it, we will. In this case, we felt it was needed to make sure our message was being heard.”

I hate Pollian for all his whining.. the rule changes because he thought the Pats were too physical with his receivers.. And the idea that they pump in crowd noise.. I"m not sure if that's true, but because it's Pollian and the Colts, I want to believe it.. :D
I have to admit though, that 5 years ago I took great pleasure in seeing Peyton fail in the playoffs, particularly against NE.. Maybe it's because all the experts thought he was better than Brady.. Now that TB has gotten his due, I guess the dislike for Manning has gone (not that I want his team to win).. maybe it's all those Mastercard commercials.. 'You're going down, Manning'.. 'That's right, I am.. 4th floor.. getting a massage.. I'm excited'... Cracks me up every time I see it.. :p

The Colts as a team, I don't hate. Can't really say they've had any "thugs" or loud mouths on their team over their years, like Porter, Lewis, Bettis, etc.

Pats - Colts games are always intense and beating them is never easy.

The fans on the other hand......different story. I realize Pats fans have the rep for being arrogant, but Colts fans hands down are the most self-righteous, holier-than-thou D-Bags you'll ever find.

For a fan base that has proclaimed itself as the "class" of the NFL, it only takes a few minutes on a Colts message board to realize the absolute hypocrisy they demonstrate.

Rooting for injury to Brady, slamming Kraft, Belichick, etc. It's all there, all the time.

Yet, they have no problem passing judgement on everyone else.

My strongest dislike is what I perceive as Manning's arrogance and ego. I really detest that. He is undoubtedly one of the games all time best skills quarterbacks. And yet because he is such an intense 'me' player, it is also his downfall - a double-edged sword. He will opt for passing in situations that cry out for a run play. He will force the long ball twice when what he needs is 6 yards to keep a drive going. It has cost him dearly in crucial games since college and especially in playoff games. I don't need to list specific cases for aficionados on this site. Letting himself off the hook and throwing other players under the bus in abhorrent to me.

I am soooo ecstatic that Brady has eclipsed Manning in some of the premier individual QB stats as well as playoff win percentage and superbowl rings. If there is any justice in the world, that has to really really eat at Manning's psyche.

As a fan of well-rounded football teams, it bugs me no end that the Colts have spent so much of their salary cap on the offense feeding Manning. On the other hand, to give them credit, it has worked and Manning has produced with the expensive offense given him. At least in the regular season. It can be argued that it is a poor formula for post season. It bugs me that they ended up winning a super bowl in spite of that.

I detest Pete Prisco's ball-washing of Manning and the Colts and kissing Mannings ring. A supposed media pundit should value substance equally well or more than style and not worship individual over team and team achievements. Ah well.

The Indy Star Colts fans are an obnoxious crowd as well as not being very football astute. Ah well.

I am amazed at Polian's draft acumen. He has successfully stocked the team year in and year out with young players who contribute to a very high percentage winning team - which he has had to do given all of the money he has spent on the key offensive players.

I have a very bad taste in my mouth when Indy fans bad mouth their defense when the Colts come up short in the playoffs when so very very often it was choke plays by Manning (and YES, that is an analytical judgment from watching slow motion replays of critical situations). Given the money spent on the defense, it is a unit to be sincerely admired.

I feel so blessed and fortunate to have the opportunity to be a Patriot's fan with all of the good character and sincere players, a fabulous coach and owner, and such an overall quality operation.

yep....to me manning got far too much credit for them winning the title that year. they won by playing well on defense. manning had only 3 td to go with 7 ints in the postseason. that PI call on Hobbs was total BS. Indy seems to get every call at home in the postseason. the steelers game anyone? what about that chargers game when the TD at the end of the half was called off. amazing how they get every big call at home in the playoffs.

dungy also said it was "a dark day for the nfl" or something like that after the spygate story broke. bill polian has insulted the patriots before and some of the colts players have trash talked the pats in the press.

ty law will forever own marivn harrison and peyton manning. 5 postseason picks when covering harrison...and no TDs given up. i know some people have issues with law but that 2003 AFCCG I will never forget what he did. amazing.

I pretty much don't hate them anymore now that Dungy is gone and Polian seems quieter, at least from here. They're less despicable since Forehead Harrison left. I respect Peyton, Clark and Wayne and they seem much less "soft" on D since they brought in Bob Sanders who plays like a man possessed for 9 quarters a year.

I still think their linebackers are douches.

They symbolize what's wrong with the NFL.
Their owner lies to the fan base and moves the team away in the middle of the night. He made his fortune by screwing people and cities, holding the city / state hostage.

Quick to call the Pats cheaters when it's been proven that they've piped in crowd noise in the stadium in 2007 when the Pats offense was on the field.

Was that ever actually proven? I'd always thought that the "cd skipping" sound we heard on the telecast was actually a malfunction with CBS equipment... was there ever any solid proof of piped in crowd noise? What chaps my _ss about that game was the Pats qb-to-coach communication being shut off or, rather, "malfunctioning".

Oh well, all's well that ends well. Even the brass knucks in the tights couldn't win the Colts that game.

In defense of Tony Dungy, I once met the guy and got to talk football with him for several minutes.

He is a sincerely decent man who when given the chance to talk about my beloved Patriots...had nothing but good things to say about them. It wasn't just "Blah blah, theyre a great team"...It was honest assesments on his part that were praise for the the team and the organization.

Maybe his comment about spygate being "A dark day in the NFL" was more along the lines of....Damn, now none of us can film the other teams without a huge repercussion if we are caught.

This may not sway most of you, but if a few out there give him the benefit of doubt, he is a decent guy.

On the other hand...Bill Polian has worked the competition committee to his benefit for so long now, that someone in the NFL should step up and tell him to STFU.

More reasons why I hate the Dolts:

After the 2005 playoff loss to Pitt, Manning didn't lead and shoulder the blame. He deflected it on his line. Mr. Genius, who gets all the credit for making adjustments at the line, should've been vilified for the way he handled that loss.

The officiating debacles that followed the Colts from 2005-2007 didn't so much as raise one eyebrow in the media.
2005: The Steelers were very nearly robbed.
2006: We all know how that played out.
2007: The refs did their best to bail out Seyton & Co. against a backup Qb-led Chargers team. The penalty negated TD before the half, the phantom PI call on a SD db guarding Wayne. The DB wasn't even in stride with Wayne and the ref looked right at the play and pulled his flag. WTF!?!? I was fully expecting the ref to bend down and flip the coin over when the Chargers won the toss.

They rarely ever get flagged for holding. Bob 4 game Sanders leads with his helmet (head down) on every single tackle.

Oh, and this Peyton has figured out the Pats crap:
2008: Matt Cassel... seriously.
2007: What was figured out? That Rosey got yer ass, and they blew a 10 pt lead.
2006: Gimme a friggen break, the playoff game was stolen.
The reg season game was a win, as Brady threw 4 picks.
2005: Iirc, that was the most depleted I can ever remember seeing the Pats in terms of injuries. You would of thought it was a flippin coronation after the Dolts won that game.

My hate runs deep it goes back to 1975 when the then Baltimore Colts tanked a game to with the Patriots so they could make the playoffs. If the Colts lost they were in the playoffs if they won the Patriots were in. To those not old enough to remember it may sound confusing, thats why the nfl made a rule that this situation couldn't happen again.

The Irsay's moved the team to Indy i never thought that was right.

Recently, the colts are always portraited as the good guys by the media while the Pats the bad.

The constant ball washing by the national media.

Polian and his whining.

Manning an his whining.

Dungy going out of his way to trash BB over spy gate. Dungy didn't have to say anything but he did.

Yeah, Gary Brackett is just about their only player that I truly dislike.

This was it for me. I grew up a Baltimore Colts fan and Bob irsay was a true louse. But now he's dead and Jimmy Irsay seems like a decent guy. So now I don't hate them but I still hope for them to lose every game. Which doesn't work out so well for me.

Same here. Grew up outside of Baltimore and could not believe it when they left. Started loving the Pats when they would crush the Colts. The 1984 game in Indy was the clinching moment for me.

Those basterds signed contracts with people for services and such, knowing full well that they would be leaving and would not honor them.

To claim a legacy with the Baltimore Colts is a joke, same is true of the Ravens and Browns, and the Titans and Oilers.
