Yes Tebow is a great leader, a hard worker, and a good college QB for the system he is in. He seems like a good person who will do whatever it takes to win and a winner.
However all of that stuff is moot when looking at him talent wise. When looking for a QB in the draft I want a guy that is a pocket passer like Brady or Manning or Rivers. I don't want a guy that plays in a college spread offense where he runs the ball almost as much as he throws the ball. You can say he will adjust to a pro offense, but I don't think he will. If you watch him play he doesn't even throw tight spirals on half of his throws and the ball just kind of hangs up there in the air. You also have to look at his throwing motion, which is almost David Garrard-like. He brings the ball back below his waist, then brings it up, and then throws. That motion will not be effective in the NFL. I believe Gary Danielson pointed this out yesterday vs. Georgia.
I just can't see using a 1st or 2nd round pick on a project QB when we have at least another good 5-6 years out of Brady and when there are bigger needs on the team.
