We also made a mistake drafting Brady in 2000 - The guy couldn't even make it to the 2nd backup spot at QB that first year and sat with his loser ass to 4th string depth!!!...

While I think the better question is Chung or Byrd, and it is way too esrly to tell.

However there is no denying that Byrd has made a ton of big plays in the Buffalo so far this season and he has also given up more than a few as well. I can't see a coach like BB putting a rookie in a position like that.

Really? He's given up more than a few plays? As a Bills fan who has seen every game, I can only think of 2 plays where he had a costly mistake, and both of those were running plays.

Jairus Byrd is playing FS not CB, so unless we planned on getting rid of Meriweather it would have made no sense to draft him. besides, the best QB he's faced is Matt Schaub (who's incredibly streaky), and several of those INTs have come from the ball bouncing of the reciever's hands.

Besides, from what I've seen Byrd is terrible at tackling/defending therun. he's whiffed on a lot of tackles that set up big plays, like Thomas Jones's big TD run a few weeks ago.

The biggest mistake we made was not re-signing Deltha O'neal. how we could let this guy walk away is beyond me

Give the kid a break. He hardly played in the first 4 games. You must remember that in the Belichick system, rookies and FA's are slowly worked into the system. Butler will be fine and he will grow into one of the premier d-backs in the League.
