Thread to post what games you watched, and/or cared about the outcome (as much as you can care about a non-Pats game, of course) and such-like. Here's mine:

Delightful:

Fish winning again over the Jests! This would rate Delicious, except for the fact that I like the Fish about as much as I like actually eating fish. Having to swallow a big helping twice within a month...BLECH! The good news is, no more smiling politely and pretending to like it!

Delicious:

Eagles win big over the Giants. Bad Eli makes his 3rd straight appearance. Don't know the details of the league's highest paid QB's :)eek:) contract, but now I'm kind of wondering how it's parceled out...small base salary for Bad Eli and big incentives for Good Eli when he shows up? Hee! Now there's a quite real possibility that the Giants won't win their division or make it to the playoffs. That would be even tastier than last year's one and done at the hands of the Eagles! YUM! YUM!

Delovely:

Broncos come down the mountain and travel near to the sea...and finally lose! Quite spectacularly. No more talk of Kyle Orton being the next TFB, or of the Broncos being the reincarnation of the 2000-01 Pats. At least for this week. I hope.

Runner Up: Colts win and remain undefeated, but barely. Against the Niners! At home! I'm hoping for considerably less Peyton butt-kissing this week as a result. No doubt the void will be filled with even more Favre butt-kissing, but can't have it all, I suppose. And no disrespect to the Niners. I really like what Singletary is doing over there, and for the want of a better QB they could be a really good team again.

All in all, pretty enjoyable for a Pats bye week. Here's hoping our boys had time to heal up some nagging injuries and are ready to squish the Fish next week! :singing:

Thanks! I should argue that, but I won't. :D

And welcome to the board!

Nice reference to Anything Goes!!

My favorites are the Jest loosing again to the Doofins....

The Bronco's coming off of their mile high of winning....

Farve being booed!!

Giants loosing!!!

and did I mention the Jest loosing? Oh yeah!!! :singing::singing:

Other than the obvious JEST loss...

The Titans-Jaguars was a very exciting game to watch.

Packers-Vikings... respect.

I agree...VERY nice day...I would have LOVED the colts went down as well..but just knowing where they are..they WILL have a tough game with teh Texans..seeing teh Jetsters lose always good...and the way it happened...will be an interesting game next week.

Watching the Jests lose is always a great thing. Reading JI and seeing the mouth breathers that were thumping their chests 3 weeks ago, now on suicide watch is priceless.

Ryan's post game presser was also priceless--The best team lost.

Great thread.

To me, the best moment was Wrecks Cryin's saying how the better team had lost and how his Jests had outplayed the Fins, seeming for the moment to forget that Special Teams is part of the game,

On Eli's Contract: the extension was for $97.5 mil over six years, with $35 or so guaranteed and heavily front loaded with $41 in the first two years. He is starting to look like one way-overpaid dude who, as Gary Myers of the NY Daily News put it when the contract was announced, had one great drive at the end of his Super Bowl and one great run at the end of the 2007 season, but has done nothing similar, before or since.

I opted for Disgusting in Detroit

Rams at Lions was a little guilty pleasure watching two teams going nowhere in an empty stadium, it reminded me yet again just how lucky we are as Patriots fans to have a team that is an annual contender and not stuck in NFL obscurity.

The most delightful thing for me was my wife winning her Pro-Line ticket! A $5 bet got her $125.75!!! She took the Rams, Dolphins and Eagles. We each do a $5 ticket every week and it's nice to win every now and then.

I almost won too as I had Miami and the Rams as well, but my 3rd choice was the Bronco's...thanks "Boy Genius" :p

Thanks! And I'm adopting Wrecks Cryin' as his official nickname. Good one!

And I had the same thought as Myers at the time. However, I was willing to at least consider that it may just be bitterness on my part. Luckily for me, it seems as though one can be bitter AND correct! :D

Jets lose and Favre wins says just how good yesterday was.:D

And the Broncos losing was great too. Just a pity about Indy struggling home, oh it would have made it a perfect Sunday and the Patriots didn't even play.

Manning (Eli that is) has got to be hurt worse than anybody outside of the Giants organization knows. You can almost see it when he drops back. His movements are done at a more gingerly pace than they usually are and he isn't shifting his weight from one leg to the other in order to make a more effective throw. Combine that with the Giants sudden inability to create pressure on defense (which leaves their overrated secondary who thrived on that pressure out to pasture) and you get the team you're watching now. The Giants are capable of turning it around, but they better hope that Manning gets better quick. They're going to need him at full strength to outscore their opponents as the defense is getting beaten constantly.

With the Titans winning and the Jags losing, that puts both picks in the top 10 of the 2nd round, more than likely. Either way, its looking like the Pats will be able to add 2 more very good young players to this team.

Good point. I didn't watch that game at all yesterday, but it did cross my mind that either way, the match-up was a win-win for the Pats draft-pick wise. And with a TENN win being the winningest possibility. :singing:
