So are you rooting for the Chargers tonight?

No, I'm pretty sure +3 means the team will win by more than 3 points. So Denver +3 means Denver wins by 3 or more. Denver -3 would mean they win by a margin smaller than 3.

But I thought it's supposed to be 3.5 or 2.5, not 3, because that was fudge the bets. So I don't know.

I'll be hoping for the Chargers to win so we can be one game away from the Bronco's in the overall AFC standings. I think my luck might of ran out. I've hoped for the Jets to lose the last 2 weeks...

As Pats fans we pretty much have to root for the Chargers. Don't have to like it, though.

No, bostonia's right- Denver +3.5 means they're getting 3.5 points- they could still cover by losing by 3 points.

In a point spread, the favored team is the one with the minus value- they're giving points.

I am rooting for the Chargers because there still is an outside chance the Pats obtain a first round bye when it's all said and done. Denver holds the tiebreaker over us unfortunately. It's so hard to root for the Chargers--it would be awesome to see them miss the playoffs despite having the most talented roster in the league for the 50th year in a row.

Who are you rooting for tonight?

Sorry, but after week six, nothing is quite yet an 'outside chance'. I am definitely rooting for the Chargers and I think they will win. I still don't believe that Denver is a top 5 team and the truth will come out by week 12.

Gotta go with the Chaagiz 'cause Denver is two games up on us and worse still, owns the tie breaker with us. I'll be rooting for Rivers, Mr Classy and Roid Boy Merriman.

Gawk! Bleeechhh! OMG I just pulled a Balloon Boy and threw up.

Personal affections aside for McDaniels, gotta root for the Chargers for the very reasons you state.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend ... go Chargers. :yeeha::yeeha::yeeha:

Can we get a replay of the Bills-Jets game with the Bolts winning it? Better yet, an OT tie.

I take it back. I'd rather the Bolts win.

Denver is favored at +3

sorry, but unless there's been a six point swing since this morning, you're wrong...chargers are favored, as of 4:45PM, by 3.5 points.

1- I can't root for the chargers,no way ,sorry.
2- We have some unfinished business with the Broncos, if we have to beat them in Denver so be it.

Hmm I still think SD is favored to win the game at -3, which means if you bet on SD, they have to win by at least a FG for you to win the bet. If SD wins by 2, you lose your money--that's what I think, but not sure. If Denver loses by 3 points, and you pick Denver, you still win the bet. But the gang green Jets forum guys might be able to help us with this question---they know this stuff more than we do:)

From a realistic vision . We cant earn a 1 round bye .

Are you basing this on the loss to Denver? Denver can certainly be caught. They have a brutal schedule (at San Diego, at Baltimore, vs Pittsburgh, vs San Diego, vs NY Giants, at Indianapolis, at Philadelphia) and can easily lose 5-6 games. Can we finish 11-5? We'll see.

*grits teeth* Yes I'm rooting for the Chargers. Bleech, I feel ill saying that.

I like McDaniels and am happy for him, but the greater good must be served...

Its a no-sense cheering for the Chargers . They are a rival for a potential WC spot .

Maybe last year are you cheering for the Ravens ?

You lose 2 games and you can't get a first round bye?

I can't route for the Chargers. just can't. They're a bunch of sanctimonious asses. I can't wait to hear them *****ing about how "Classy" they are when they lose.

First round bye is still way too early to call- dunno why anyone's claiming that it's not possible. What are the two teams that are so far ahead of us to make it unrealistic? Denver and Indy are the undefeateds, and Denver has a brutal schedule coming up, and if we beat Indy we'll only need to make up 1 more game on them in the standings over the course of the other 9. How is that not possible?

Don't forget about Pittsburgh--Pats likely will have to get a better record than them to get a bye. I think both teams end up at 12-4.

I hear you. Well either way we win. If Denver loses we are that much closer to catching them, If Chargers lose they are that much closer to being buried.

Mmhmm. Let everyone else in the AFC beat the crap out of each other.

Hmm... checking for common opponents. So far we both beat the Titans, we've lost to the Broncos. Other common opponents: they have to play the Dolphins once and the Ravens twice, and we already beat the Ravens once and need to play the Dolphins twice. If they lose a Ravens game, and we don't drop one to the Dolphins, that could get pretty convoluted...

The Broncos are not what their record says they are. One of these days they will be found out.
In retro, I think Josh needed the win more than we did. It helped him a lot. Now reality sets in and I will be the first to welcome the Broncos back to earth.
