Galloway's lack of gelling (to put it kindly) is well-documented -- and the O certainly didn't seem to miss him today -- but my question is:

If Moss/Welker/Edelman are healthy, is Galloway a continued scratch in favor of Aiken and his special teams contributions, or is this merely a shot across Galloway's bow?

My guess is that Belichick has "seen enough" (as Lombardi relates BB/Parcells are wont to say) and will just have Galloway around as injury insurance.

Or hopefully they re-invent his role on the offense and stop miscasting him as a Gaffney-like possession-type guy ...

One week..... He's gone! They chose the wrong guy, should have been Lewis, but time to move on.

We will know very soon If he is not released, then he still has a chance. If BB has had enough, then he will not make another appearance in the locker room.

I cant see the Pats getting rid of Galloway, although he isnt even close to what anyone thought he would be, he needs to be kept on the roster until Welker's health is 100%. We arent exactly deep at the WR position

He reminds me so much of Doug Gabriel...but I think they keep him around, they do need depth.

Galloway is better than Sam Aiken.

Would they just cut him, or at least try to find a trade? -at least for a LB prospect or to address one of our teams biggest needs: punter. :D

I stay he sticks around till around the bye week then when Welker's health is certain he goes.

What's Tate's status? Was he IR'd or PUP'd?

I'm still not sure he's gone. As Cowher noted before the game in regard to the Raiders' QB situation, you may not like a player but you have to have a better option available.

If Galloway was brought in to stretch the field, and has not been played in that role with Welker out, who does it in his absence when Welker is on the field? This could have been more a statement on what the Ravens presented as a defense and how to best counter that than it is Galloway's ticket out of town (if it were, why wasn't Galloway released already?)

Would it surprise me if he gets bounced based on his performance to date? Not really. But with receiver injuries of late I would be surprised if the Pats roll the dice on the available alternatives as none can present the same ability to stretch the field and draw coverage otherwise thrown at Moss.

That's the thing.. he's not drawing coverage. He's not being respected out there.

Alright, as I tell this story, remember I'm not the guy who thinks coaches should play Madden...

I was playing Madden '09 against a biddy who's real good at it. Apparently you can't run the hurry up on 10 plays in a row without the starters disappearing for a while, haha.

Anyway, I got a TD on this ridiculous long bomb to Tate who I didn't realize had been auto-subbed. Even saved the replay.

That got me thinking, Friday night, that Tate could be the WR answer to the question mark JG has become. Not cuz he's great in some video game, but he was a highly touted WR who slipped because of the injury. The game just reminded me of that.

A few very good teams could pick up Galloway ... like say the Ravens. So Bill needs to trade him if at all possible I would say.

I would think that we would keep him until someone comes back from the PUP list. This insurance costs us little. Besides, he might actually understand the offense by then.

Its all about Brady really. Brady and Galloway seem not to be on the same page a lot of the time, but then again Joey is a guy thats not used to running short routes, he is a long threat. When Brady starts to complete a few passes deep then Galloway is the guy you want on your team. And of course if Brady doesn't like you then you will be gone.

I'm sorry...just going to Sam Aiken doesn't work for me. Welker is gimpy. Moss isn't 100%. Why would you cut a guy who is an injury or two from being a featured receiver?

I think it sucks that he hasn't caught on completely yet, but I would rather give it time and bank on his track record than just toss him aside and get blindsided later if Welker and/or Moss go down and we're signing people off the practice squad.

Well they are going to have to make room for Seau.
