Re: OT: Jets owner thanks fans with gift

Theres that and then there is the smug arrogance of some Pat fans.
Jets fan accusing members of another fanbase of "smug arrogance". lol :singing:

Shouldn't you be preparing a chant for fellow Jet fans to recite to women in Gate D on Sunday?

Re: OT: Jets owner thanks fans with gift

Brought to you by.....Subway.

Great idea from the marketing dept. We'll sell it to a sponsor and give the "gift" of a free walllpaper for your computer.

The least they could have done is a free coozy or something.

LOL, you lost, couldn't walk the walk, but your still talking. 16 to 9 can you sing that Tune?

Maybe hard to believe for a fan in the tail end of a dynasty, but the game ball means very much to me.

Even though I watched the game from 2,000 miles away alone with my best buddy Jethro, in my Man cave/garage I would be surprised if you couldn't hear me.

2 in a row. What you going to do about it. 16 to 9 can you sing that Tune?

I knew it was just a matter of time before your true colors came out, despite all the gracious folks here who considered you a sometimes reasonable representative of Green Bean Nation. But it's now obvious to all why you spend so much time on this forum vs. a site with fellow Jersey fans: you are GREEN with envy and yearn to feel what it's like to be associated with a proven, consistent winner. One regular-season victory and your inherent obnoxiousness boils over like a broken-down teapot.

Your being 3,000 miles away during that game earns you no right to Woody's cyber game-ball wallpaper, by the way. That empty gesture was reserved for the coveted prospective PSL buyers IN ATTENDANCE at Giants Stadium, who are so desperate and depressed after 40 years of abject failure that they'll even buy into Tubby Wrecks' faux WWF marketing shtick.

Your continued presence on this forum represents a cry for help. Here is a suggestion: embrace the Seahawks and leave the Green Bean carnival to terminal psychos like Fireman Ed. You'll be much better off in the long run.

I feel kind of bad for the Jets team and their fans and organization. A regular season win means this much to them? What's going to happen when they lose the division and don't even make the playoffs? Will they still put out a DVD celebrating their Week 2 Superbowl?

Re: OT: Jets owner thanks fans with gift

The Jets organization, and Jets fans in general, suffer from an inferiority complex. They are second hand news in their own town (which should be NJ - but it's New York) for 'crissakes. They are a rabid, drunken fanbase thirsty for success (which is why I think Rex is a marketing genius - plays right into the fanbase) - and I understand this. What I do not understand is the arrogance and the bush league tactics from the F.O. 1) Win something substansive, then get ****y and 2) you represent the greatest city in the world, act like it. No mass voicemails better suited for a friday night high school game in Texas, no "gift" of game balls wallpaper of a game two victory, etc. It's bad form and cheesy as all get out. Stop acting like the K-Mart of the NFL. Act like - I 'dunno - the Giants. :)

Re: OT: Jets owner thanks fans with gift

I like this JWCFalcon. Maybe we can send him some swag and lure him over to our side.

You know guys I think this Jets thank you is a little lame but at the same time I was asked to go to Sunday's game last night and thought twice about it. Reason being, I like to go "overboard" at the games and am treated like a leaper.

Thanks fourth and miles! Im happier as a long suffering yet hopeful Falcons fan.

and dont worry, i'm here all week. I will EVENTUALLY piss you off too! ;)

Re: OT: Jets owner thanks fans with gift

Does this make us feel better now that the Pats are losers to the Jets. Gotta find solace somewhere.

Rex gave the fans a game ball for helping cause Tom Terrific into 4 delay of game penalties. Stadium was rocking. Can't wait till the rematch in Foxborough - sure it'll be the same atmosphere, though it does quiet down quite a bit when the Pats don't play well. But Tom should be himself by then, presuming he's not pulling a Carson Palmer.

I'd advise caution. The poster David Harris toed the line for awhile, but crossed it today.

To paraphrase a great quote in the Godfather I: You won't be seeing him around no more.

Fireman Ed has to get a life. A 60+ year old acting like a drunken teenager. So pathetic.

Don't worry there use to it, they'll carry on. Next year they'll be back saying the same things.

Just think people have been born grew to be adults an have died since the jests have won anything more than a division title.

My take is that its two in a row against the Pats, one in the Meadowlands and one in your house.

And in fairness, Jet fans have, admittedly, been beaten into lethargy by poor football. Last week was the re-awakening for Jets fans as the twelfth man, and I understand how you would want to down-play that.

Because it truly sucks to be you. NOW.

How does it suck to be us? Our team has won three championships since the Vietnam War. How many have the Jets won?

By the way, I would love to see someone throw 5'6" hobbit a.k.a. "Fireman" Ed off the top of GIANTS Stadium.

I am sure most Jet fans would also want to throw FE around. Guy is a class a douch.
That said he said it sucks to be us "NOW" meaning their future is looking bright, and ours on the downspin. i wont give up hope with BB&TB. But I hope BBs ego didnt get the best of us. Seymour for a 1 is great down the road, but severly hurts us this year. Sometimes I think BB is not as good as he thinks he is. That deal may have set us back the next 2 seasons.

Well, that and toying around with our draft pick this past year's draft and drafting ourselves out of the first round when we could have had a good offensive lineman. However, with that said, it's week 3. Let's take a look at where we're at and where the Jets are at at the end of the season.

Re: OT: Jets owner thanks fans with gift, Rex gives Fireman Ed game ball from Super B

Funny stuff...
No doubt that since 2002, the Pats have been a better football team than the Jets (see Mo Lewis). But, when you want to get into a discussion on fans, Pats lose big time.

The Jets have sold out every game since 1978, despite moving 30 miles away from there historical fan base. The Pats only started selling out when Parcells arrived, and many New Englanders admit loyalty to another team because the Pats were blacked out so often when they were growing up.

While the Pats don't have PSL's, they have the highest average ticket prices in the league, the highest parking prices (outside Dallas) in the league, and offer the fans the worst access into and out of the stadium in all of professional sports. Kraft has found more creative ways to bleed money out of a fan base than any owner in the league...at least with PSL's Woody and Mara have been upfront about it.

You can give Jets fans all the hazing you want to, but they have been there through thick and thin. Let's see what happens to the loyalty of Pats nation when Brady is done and the 6-10 seasons set in. If your stadium is still full then your fan base will have stepped up from a band waggon base.

:blahblah::blahblah::blahblah::blahblah:

I've PERSONALLY attended Green Beans vs. Patriots games in Giants Stadium where the stands were half-full at best. Take your rationalized nonsense elsewhere.

That's a bunch of bs.

When Kraft purchased the team for a lot more than they were worth at the time, it told the fans the team was staying; that's why thousands of new season tickets were sold immediately after he became owner, despite the team coming off a 5-11 season. Since then, the team sold out every game, even through 6-10 and 5-11 seasons. Just because the team has been good for the majority of his ownership doesn't make the fans bandwagoners.

he's just baiting you.......the better comparison is between the fan support of the New York Giants and the New Jersey jets*..........NBA vs WNBA...............simple,get it?

The Jets fans are HUGE bandwaggoners......look at the # of them that have all of a sudden shown up on this board. If you look at games from the past, there are thousands of empty seats, even last year. The place is half empty at kickoff every game (I know this from personal experience). On Sunday, they had some cheerleader before the game trying to fire everyone up, to crickets. It was HILARIOUS watching Ed literally PLEADING for fans to get into the game. Then, once the Jets* won, the crowd on the way out of Giants Stadium really were confused and were acting as if they won the Super Bowl. Jets fans suck. I was in Section 321 Sunday, and there were many people sitting in sitting on their hands despite Ed's cries for noise. Jets fans are not Jets fans - they are Patriots haters.

Oh, and PS, people in NYC were worried until kickoff that the Pats - Jets may have been blacked out down there......the game wasn't a sellout unitl the last minute....
