I have a lot more confidence in the offense coming around that the defense. I know they only gave up only 16 points, but they have a patern going back several years now of giving up big plays on 3rd downs. No one can have any confidence in this defense on 3 rd downs. They also seem to have no imagination. Should we bring back Romeo ;)

That was painful to watch.

Seriouslt...go to your Jet Board and talk about the Super Bowl you just won...

You spoil the bunch. there's a lot of good football talk on these boards. Pats trolls are over on Jetsinsider right now as they always are and are breaking down the game. Let's stop with the whining. It was just one game guys, it's a long season. Jets won this one though.

I agree that the problem was that Brady didn't have time to have deeper routes develop and without Welker underneath the Pats playbook was vanilla. The other white kid filled in nicely but Galloway should have his lawn vandalized this week. Moss is still elite but last week Revis shut down Andre Johnson so it's not his fault, especially when Tom Terrific doesn't have any time.

Third down D is bad...I do not understand why we don't blitz more.

Is it me or did the blocking look awful in general, especially the run blocking (again)?

Fine...but why as a Jet fan do you want to be here? Go celebrate your Super Bowl victory with some other Jet fans.

Balance is key, and we certainly dont have it ...

To be honest, I am glad that's out of the way. Hopefully that will be the "stinker" game of the year.

The play calling needs to improve because teams will look at what the jets did and try to do the same against the offense..

Not one screen play????

Run blocking was average...in fact Fred Taylor ran pretty well and we stopped running and went to 5 wide which just begged for the blitz.

The offense was problematic, and the D gave up 16 points to a pretty weak Jets offense. I heard Chancey Stuckey's name being called out a lot more than Joey Galloway...

It looks like we are really missing Jabar Gaffney as sad as that is. Galloway seemed to have trouble getting open and when he did he dropped the ball half the time. Revis playing Moss tough with help over the top and no other threats real receiving threats made it easy for the Jets to just pin their ears back and blitz Brady knowing there was not much danger if they didn't get to him.

The O line looked like what they are: decent at pass blocking, mediocre at best at run blocking. Put any real pressure on them and you are forced to abandon the run since there will be 2 or 3 in the backfield every other play.

On defense it still looks like they struggle to cover the pass. Save a few plays, once Sanchez settled in he had all day to find someone to throw to. Like someone else posted, did anyone see Burgess today? For that matter did any of the front seven really show up? I saw Wilfork and Warren doing their best but aside from that there wasn't much consistently good coming up front. The secondary looked ok, but Wilhite appeared to be getting picked on a bit.

On the bright side we lost by 7 without Mayo or Welker. This team looks an awful lot like last years, in that they are shaky out of the gate. I'm hoping that things start to come together as the season goes on because as things stand right now they aren't likely to make the playoffs. No need to panic unless things are still ugly after the bye, but they do have a lot to work on.

Defense is a work in progress. We all know that. Inspiteof that they held the jets to 3 pts in the first half and -ve passing yards or something for a long time.
Pats offfense if it capitalized on of the red zone trips then it wouldve helped the defense. 3 RZ trips with FG's is where the game was lost. The offense has to carry the team until nthe fefense comes around and today it didnt.

Whatever...its trolls like you and Jet fans that blow up this board. Seriously, a picture of Kimbo Slice? What are you 12?

Yeah im twelve because I want to rep this season of TUF...please GTFO of here dude.

Both our top running backs ran well when given the chance. Besides them we have Morris Faulk and BJGE.

People keep talking about 2007, but we didn't win in 2007. We didn't win in 2002 either and looked incredible with our all passing offense those first two games.

The years we did win, we won with balance offense. One year we had Dillon, but we kept running the other two despite a lot less RB talent than we have on the present team.

With a QB coming off major surgery and a passing offense the whole league has been studying for two years, maybe it's time to actually work our game plan around our talent and return to a balanced offense.

We run once or twice and every defense knows that's it, so they don't adjust. If we smash mouthed down the field for a few first downs, (or even touchdowns:eek:) like we were really committed to it I bet it would loosen things up.

Passing is pretty. A balanced offense got us 3 rings.

We would be 2-0 right now, but we are not because of our offense. At least the offensive problems will be an easier fix.

1) They missed Wes a lot that game.

2) That was a bad sign at halftime to be up only 6 points when they dominated the jets

3) Hurry back Mayo!

4) Hopefully Brady will shake off the rust here soon and get his timing back with the receivers.

Honestly, I was really excited when we signed Galloway. Does anyone have Reche Caldwell's number? He had a TON more chemistry with Brady. I'd like to hope this is just growing pains but maybe this Donte Stallworth part 2....

Oh I'm over there too. It's a lot of fun. It's always fun after you win like the Jets did today. This being the Superbowl makes it even better.

Honestly though I think that the Pats fans need to be patient with Tom. I mean that was a devastating injury, look at Carson Palmer, he's never been the same. I'd take it easy on him until week 6,7, or 8 to get the rust off and get oriented to the new dynamic of a less talented defense on the other side and an ageing O-line. He's one of the greatest though, he'll be back.

Run blocking gets better the more you run. It's rhythm. However, Taylor averaged 5.8 and Maroney 3.8 and that certainly will get the job done if used consistently.

That was the worst offensive game plan I have seen from this team in years. Brady looked timid out there today. If he continues to play like this he mind as well just retire.

I guess we were watching different qbs today. He was inaccurate and off-target and still a bit rusty, but he didn't seem timid to me.

Couldn't have been more wrong

I thought the Pats were gonna lose the game last week after the Bills scored to go up 11 at 5:32. Wrong.

I thought the Pats were gonna come out and stomp all over the Jesters today after NY talked so much smack this week. Wrong.

I still thought the Pats were gonna win this game when Brady took over with 5:10 left in the 4th down by only 7. Wrong.

I thought the Pats offense was the strength of this team. Wrong.

I thought the Pats defense needed to be protected until the young'uns could gel together and we get Mayo healthy. Wrong.

I thought Richard Seymour's absence wouldn't make too big a difference in the pass rush and we'd pressure the Rookie into some costly errors. Wrong.

I thought Brady was all the way back from the leg injury after the 4th quarter comeback vs. Buffalo. Wrong.

I thought Brady would kill the blitz and make the Jesters pay for bringing the house all day. Wrong.

I thought we'd see Brady looking for Moss in crunch time. Wrong.

I thought Randy would handle Revis. Wrong.

So I admit it. Everything I have thought about the 2009 Patriots so far has been 100% wrong.

Strangely enough I am very comforted by this because I'm hoping it means I am also wrong thinking the Pats may have come back down to the rest of the pack and the window may be closing.

So what do ya'll think? How wrong have you been so far this season?
