Brady fires back at Ryan.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP)—Tom Brady(notes) had a succinct response to all the talking Jets coach Rex Ryan has done about the Patriots and their coach.

“Talk is cheap,” the Patriots quarterback said Wednesday with a smile"

No matter what you say on a Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday, it doesn’t matter much. I think our execution is what’s most important and that’s what we choose to focus on.”

Brady also thought that talk was cheap when Plaxico Burress said that the Pats would only score 17 points in the SB. Burress was wrong, of course...

Uh...yeah, Burress talking about it didn't influence directly on the result of the game. The Giants defense backing up the talk did. So, by this logic, talk is still cheap, execution matters, which is exactly what Brady said in his interview.

It would help if Yahoo bothered to get the entire quote in context and note Brady was applying the "talk is cheap" remark to NE as well as NY.

Yeah, ok then; and Brady goes home everynight to one of the most beautiful women on the planet and Burress is now an ass pirate in prison.

So there you go.

Correct. Just saw the clip on NESN. It didn't seem to me that Brady's quote was aimed at all at Ryan's oral diarrhea. The fact remains that win, lose or tie on Sunday, on Monday morning Rex Ryan will still be a classless, loud-mouth dink just like his old man. He' a perfect fit for the Jest.

My point is that trash talk against them doesn't seem to motivate the Pats any longer.

I'm sure it does.

The players just don't talk about it publicly during the week because that would defeat the purpose.

Behind closed doors, Ryan quotes are probably all over the walls.

the yahoo summary is misleading. not that tom wasn't taking a shot at tubby ryan... but his response was more along the lines of: the pats are confident too, but we'll let our actions speak b/c talk is cheap....

It think he WAS taking a shot at Ryan with this statement:

“I think we follow the lead of our head coach,” Brady said.

“I think because we feel a certain way, we don’t necessarily need to tell everybody about it. I mean, we’re confident. We have as much confidence as most teams in the league".

I also think it was unusual that he did. I also believe trash talk still motivates them, otherwise Brady wouldn't have bothered to say anything.

I saw that interview, he wasn't talking about Rex Ryan's comments, he was talking about himself and the team.

Title of thread is misleading, kinda like a ESPN headline

Don't you mean BSPN in general? :D

brady didnt fire back at ryan. he was responding to general comments made by all the jets. nice way to pump up an article.

Of course. The mediots always love to blame the Pats on all things horrid and evil. :p

this whole war of "words" thing is so media hyped Brady was talking about himself and the team not the Jets or Ryan.

Sorry but thats the way its being played by at least three media outlets. I was just going on that, i didn't know what the context was when he made those remarks. Please go find something else to be petty about.

This title should read " Brady's perception on Trash Talking "

The current title only supports the intentional misinterpretation by the media to get views. I would like to suggest it's changed to correctly reflect what was said !

Petty ? I disagree, I suggest you look at the video, research your posts a little more, especially when it dosen't make sense !

I wouldn't have put it past Rex Ryan before to put a bullseye on Brady's knee. Now I almost expect him to do it.
