Sad news about Jerry Remy...

In the interim Dennis Eckersley will handle the commentary for the current homespan and Dave Roberts will handle commentary for the upcoming west coast trip.

Remy is great ... I wish him well. Lung cancer? Throat cancer? Hopefully they got it early. The games are not the same without Remy. Eck is a great analyst but not a very good game guy. Get well soon Remy.

I wish him the best; but I have to say the Eck's got a **** Raditz thing going that's kinda cool too.

Hope he recovers fast and healthy, but Eck won't be a bad temporary replacement

Damn, I dont get NESN anymore, so this is my first time hearing of this.
I was about to post how I miss Don & Remy when Im watching games now. Putting my obvious bias aside, Remy really is a great person to listen to, he complements the other teams/players/coaches, has great insight cause he was actually a player, and keeps boring games interesting. I cant count/remember how many times they would cut back from commercials and, us the audience, would hear Don & Remy laughing hysterically and have no idea why. Remember the guy that threw the pizza slice and how many times Remy replayed it?
He seems like a genuine person and I wish him the best through the whole process.

The Remdog is awesome at what he does. Best wishes Rem. He really is one of the best baseball color men in the country.

TC said last nite that he's recovering now. but has anyone noticed that Eck has been very tough on the pitchers, catches, and umps. one close call and he goes of on them. even if they're on the sox!

I'm a Yanks fan, and I watch NESN feeds from time to time, Remy is a lot of fun to listen to and he's a fairly unbiased commentator. I really hope he recovers and is able to come back to the booth.
