I'm a new fan to football, but have decided that the Pats are my team!

If you are a new football fan, check out he thread "should we have a Glossary thread". Some posters have added links to sites that give basic football terms up to some more complex.

Also, be careful about what you say about BB. There is a group of lady posters known as The Kool Aid Choir who will go off on anyone who slights the God known as BB.

Hi, Tiffany, and welcome to the board!

You may notice a thread with the title: Would a Football Glossary Thread be Helpful? It has some suggestions for answers to questions that a new fan might want to ask. I think it would be great if you could have a look at it and let people know if there are other questions that we could try to find answers to.

You'll see that the posters to the board have very different levels of knowledge and expertise. In my experience, if you're honestly seeking answers people are very kind and patient here -- the only times we have trouble are when people act as if they had a lot more knowledge than they do!

You made 3 very wise choices I see. For starters, picking NFL football as a sport to follow. Second, picking the Pats as your team in your chosen sport. And third, picking patsfans as the place to indulge your newfound NFL/Patriot fanaticism.

Limo Lady chimes in every once in a great while and that's about it. There are always a few Patriots threads at JI but you won't see any JEST threads over here.

I guess at JI they have a penis envy thing going on with the Patriots.

Cool. Thanks! The biggest subject matter over there is that T Brady is g@y. Here anything about that one? Now don't get me wrong, it's probably just that some of them are pi**ed that Brady did so well, but there are rumors floating around. I'm not one to talk however, look who we gots as qb's!

Your questions are going to be no more stupid than the ones that I ask, and I've been following Football on and off for the past twenty years. It's the most complex game I know of.

I dont have a link, but I remember reading somewhere last year that someone (a premier player) in an eastern division (didnt specify AFC or NFC) may be g@y and that the league had a gag order on it. The guys over at JI are betting on either Strahan or Brady. To me, it doesnt matter, but some of my fellow Jets fans can be brutal towards something like this.

I guess that's what occupies the fans of losing teams. Over here, we talk more about what's happening on the field.
