The guys who in a perfect world I wish the Pats still had.

I chose Huard over Cassell because no world is that perfect.

I'm pretty much with you (I'm glad that you didn't want to change our kicker!) But, what? No love for HANK POTEAT???

You know those Chinese Jews and their kettle drums, not a bongo player in the bunch. :snob:

Great job!

And no surprise which teams are clustered at the top of the list.

I'd also be curious as to which teams' ex-players the Pats have most of. Early in the BB regime it was surely the Jets, but that's mainly for reasons that are ancient history now. (I say "mainly" because BB has stated a lingering bias towards guys in his division just because he has a lot of film on them specifically playing against teams he's familiar with, which he believes helps him in evaluating them.)

This doesn't answer your question....but may be intersting nontheless.....

Of the 2008 roster.....

22 were drafted by NEP
22 were UDFA
3 by the Chargers
2 by the Bills
1 each = Balt, Bears, cinci, clev, den, hous, minn, jets, steelers, 49ers, sea hawks, bucs.

I suspect that you're a little off in those stats, because that link for some reason makes it look as if the Patriots' 2008 draftees were UDFAs.

Even so, the true UDFA number is non-trivial.

I have an idea it is probably Denver but I'm not sure of the answer. Off the top of my head;

Denver has (5)..Lamont Jordan, Brandon Gorin, Lonie Paxton,Daniel Graham and Clint Oldenberg.
KC (3) Vrabel, Cassel and Monty Beisel
NYJ (3) Izzo, Law and Damien Woody
Clev (3) David Patten, Hank Poteat and Donte Stallworth*

Add Chattam to the Jets' list. Unless he's gone, then never mind.

Garett Mills was on the Patriots as well..though he was IRed for his 1st year.

Ty Law is still with the Jets according to NFL.com..

Jeremy Mincey is still with the Jaguars according to NFL.com

Patrick Cobbs was on the Patriots and they traded him to the Steelers who then released him and he was signed by Miami.

Pat Ross spent time on the Pats Practice Squad and is with AZ now.

Law is a free agent. All the others are good catches.

Amended, it was late. :D

Well I suppose we love the Pats special teams.

Jason Pociask, TB, too.

Great list. I've got to admit that there are 7 names there that mean nothing to me -- Jon Condo??? And some I can't believe are still in the league -- P.K. Sam, Christian Morton!!

But here's a name I think you've missed. Robbie Gould (Chicago) was a Patriot once, wasn't he?

Only in training camp, so I don't think that counts.

What Pats1 said.

Corrected Pats1 in a small piece of Pats trivia. "No, no, they can't take that away from me!" :singing:

(Tarnation! Missed Garrett Mills. Glanced at the Minny roster but couldn't remember his name!)

I would agree with everyone except for Woody, who I don't think is a great upgrade over our interior linemen (maybe Neal, but not by much), and Branch, who's injury problems worry me.

If you mean at the height of their Patriot prime, absolutely, sign me up :D

Actually, I think I agree with you more than myself. I was on the fence about Woody and I probably fell on the wrong side.
