We got unlucky because Denver was slow in figuring out what it wanted.

If they knew they could get this much for Cutler they probably would have offered more for Cassel than KC did.

It's a glass half full type of day Also Denver has less of a QB and we have to play them this year too. Hopefully early in the year.

There's a high chance the Broncos take Raji with their first pick now.

Orton is actually a pretty decent QB. He had nobody to throw to last year and had 18 td's, 12 int's.

I think the Bears overpayed. 2 firsts and Orton who is a decent QB, and to be honest, they need a lot more on offense than a QB, as who is he going to throw to, Hester?

So much for the rush to judgement crowd castigating Josh on missing Cassel. Remember he was competing with BB's buddy and sorta genius Scott Pioli in that game. Josh done really, really good for himself. Got rid of the whiner and got himself lots of picks to build the D. Damn him.

Considering how cheap the Bears are, and Jerry Angelo is very hoarding with his draft picks to boot, I am SHOCKED.

Yes, I know the Bears need a decent QB, but remember Lovie Smith plays Dungy ball(what he learned from his former boss, that is) - play conservative on O, and let his D take care of the rest. A gunslinging QB is THE LAST thing on his mind!

Hahaha Chicago is completely screwed. They'll be basement-dwellers in the NFC within 3 years, for sure. There are only a couple of players worth trading multiple first-rounders for, and Cutler isn't one of them.

They ARE in the NFCN, OTOH.

If the Vikes had a halfway decent QB last year, they would have beaten the Eagles by double digits in that playoff game.

The reporting suggests they talked around an offer, but didn't make it firm because they didn't have a firm offer in hand for Cutler.

Anyhow, that's not germane to my point, which I stand by as originally statd.

This really has nothing to do with Cassell. Obviously there was a market for Cutler. McDaniels was in the worst possible position, having to trade someone who'd publicly complained, and still got a King's ransom.

All we know is, Tampa was interested in cutler and chicago was interested in Cutler. Obviously that left mcDaniels in the market for a QB and Cassel was available, but that doesn't mean there was a comparable market for Cassell. Angelo has not evidenced any signs of insanity in the past, so one must conclude there was some sort of market for this guy.

Remember, unless you are one of the GMs for the other thirty one teams, it doesn't really matter what you think of the relative value of these two QBs. Plus, there are contract issues.
