Yeah - potentially picking up the third pick in the draft, possibly for Cassel and Vrabel is really gonna suck. And what's wrong with our front office that THEY didn't trade away a 4th round draft pick for the CB who is 4th on the Eagles Depth chart?

I am not asking about last year but the last 3 years. It was just a question, I was not implying anything.

1.) You didn't start off asking about the past 3 years. Your question was about "few", not 3.

2.) However many made it in the past is really not the issue, since the team is different now than it was then. Where there was once depth is a bit of shallowness, and vice versa.

3.) This past season alone, Wilhite, Slater and Ruud were on the team, along with undrafted players.

4.) Most of last year's lower round players ended up on opposing teams' rosters or practice squads.

5.) The year before that netted Gostkowski, O'Callaghan, LeKevin Smith and Willie Andrews. Andrews later had police issues and was cut.

So, using only players kept and still on their original, Patriots, team, you've got:

O'Callaghan
Smith
Gostkowski
Wilhite
Ruud
Slater

The OP is correct. The division belongs to the Jets now. We might as well just pack it in and give it to them. How can we possibly compete?

Lito to the Jets doesnt scare me the least bit. The Eagles have been looking to deal him because he simply isnt that good anymore.

I don't think the Pats signing Fred Taylor counts as a sucky day.

Why do people get depressed after the first day of free agency? It's just stupid. The Redskins win the "Day 1 of Free Agency" Super Bowl every year, and how much has it ever actually helped them?

On the bright said, I spent a large portion of today over on the Chiefs board, hoping to hear some breaking news about the Vrabel trade, and they're even more of a bunch of high-strung, delusional weirdos than you guys all are. Gave me more of an appreciation for Patsfans.

Ya, you are right. If I had season tickets I would sell them right now. Seasons over.

This is almost as bad as when we lost the NFL MVP, what was his name?, in the first eight minutes of the first game of last season. Why didn't I give up then? I could of been sparred the agony of losing the first day of free-agency
