Thanks for the list, some good names on there.

Imagine this, Sproles joins Faulk and Welker as a 3rd do it all guy for the Patriots offense/special teams.

But seriously, please BB get a championship defense.

No 3-4 OLB targets on that list.

Several DB's that would instantly upgrade the Pats.
Buffalo's Jabari Greer is listed at #47.
Phil Buchanan is right behind at #48 - he's been an up & down guy. Drafted at #17 overall, then traded, then released, then resurrected in Tampa Bay.

A bunch of safeties.
Headed by Jermaine Phillips, who would be a coup to bring in.
Atogwe and Dawkins, at different ends of their careers. Atogwe would also be expensive.
Sean Jones is an intriguing guy, athletic, played in Cleveland, but hasn't lived up to his early billing. He could be a real target in free agency.

The only real 3-4 OLB's are Suggs, Peppers, and Dansby.
Suggs and Peppers would be way too expensive.
Dansby really projects to more of an ILB in this system, and is also probably too expensive for the value he offers at ILB for the Pats.

Vilma, Crowder, and Andra Davis would all be welcome additions at ILB, and each could contribute significantly. A rotation with Mayo, Vilma/Crowder/Davis, Bruschi, and Guyton would be very effective.

Brandon Jacobs was tagged by the Giants. I think the tag period ends this week.

I don't agree with Tomase most times but this is a good read on what we need, a play maker at safety: Last line of ‘D’ is first - BostonHerald.com

I'd be happy with either Suggs #3 or Dansby #9 in a Pats uniform. Trade Cassel for a 1st round pick. Then get a Sean Jones who is only #38 for a reasonable deal and you are ready to rock out at the draft. Of course that's an ideal scenario but hey, you never know how it's going to shake out so might as well hope for the best.

Sproles is number 50? There is some serious beef on this list but IMHO Sproles ranks somewhere in the 25-30 range in terms of overall value to a team when you considering his ST and O abilities.

A decent number of reliable O-line men on that list. Mark it down - Marvel Smith will make a FA visit to Foxboro. He'll ask for too much $ I bet, but he'll come in for a sit down. Other O-linemen that may show up in NE for a chat: Barnes (whenever I hear this name I can't help but think of Charlie Sheen screaming, "Barnes! Barnes!" near the end of Platoon), Andrews (could he be a late bloomer here in NE? He's got to be 5years or so younger than M. Light), Vernon Carey maybe too. He began to redeem himself the last year or two. Saturday?

How bout Channing Crowder? I know he talks alot, but he seems to care alot about playing football. and didnt Miami play a 3-4 last year?

I think he and Matt Light would have to hold hands and walk on the beach first.

Crowder has some skill, but he is not a great third-down player, and to pay a linebacker, you have to be able to make a difference on third down. The agent for Crowder has expectations as he sees his player as a starter and wants to get starting money. But for me, if a linebacker can’t play on third down and make an impact, he can’t get a big contract. When a team can just use a formation to get a player off the field, why would it pay him big money? He’s a replaceable part.

Wow, JJ Arrington is available. Reminded me of our K.Faulk at times, great accelaration, great speed, has running and catching abilities, worth a look!

That list will have to be revised considering all the players that have been released. Only two more days of tagging.
