Why I Like Quan Cosby

First off he's got good character, competitiveness, quick cutting ability and DEPENDABLE hands going on but I love what he shows in this clip. Keep your eyes on the Sooners #11:

Hes a good wideout came up huge against OSU if he falls into our range in day 2 I wouldn't be mad if we got him.

No but Hynes Ward types aren't too bad to have on your side. I'm not saying he has Ward's level of ability but if he can produce as much as Gaffney and block like that clip, he's worth a shot in the 5th or 6th round. I think he has the ability to quickly get in and out of his cuts but lacks a second gear. It'll be interesting to see the results from the combine or his Pro Day workout.

If we are talking about second day WRs possibilities, I am drawn to a guy who just makes plays and reminds me of the ex Patriots 7th rounder, whose name escapes me, but played opposite Deon Branch and left for the Titans, before suffering a career injury.

The possible draftee is Brian Robiske of OSU. He seems to have that indefinable quality that Hines Ward and our ex-Pat had, even without great speed. He is just a playmaker.

That ex Patriots 7th rounder, one David Patten by name, was recently cut by New Orleans and is available.

Brian Robiskie seems like a good fit, if he lasts to the late rounds. He could be more of a 3rd-4th round guy, and I'm not sure I would pull the trigger that early.

No I did not mean David Patten. I meant the possesion receiver, whatzisname...

I meant David Givens, who we drafted in the 7th round out of Notre Dame and who went to Tennessee after 2005. He lasted one season before a knee injury. I confused him with David Patten, who went to Washington before the Saints.

Thanks. I just had a mental block and it was bugging me. Givens and Hines are not fast, they are playmakers, getting open and catching the ball. Brian Robiske has that same look to me.

Isn't he 27 or something? Played baseball for a couple of years before getting back into football.

Quan Crosby is not an NFL receiver.

He is old, not a burner, with average size. No thanks, unless we could get him as an UDFA.

I'll second that. For a slow guy, he never seems to have a problem getting open. And we know how much Belichick loves NFL offspring.

He is not old (25?) come on, Crosby is very Wes Welker like. The evaluation you're giving Crosby is the same evaluation that was given to Welker, not a burner, lets remember Welker ran a 4.6, and not anything special. Crosby tore apart the Buckeyes, who continuously produce NFL ready corners and safeties and possesses intangibles and smarts, that make players like him and Welker effective in the NFL.

Some people think a player stays with the team that drafted him like the old days. A five year contract gets Cosby still in his prime. His age doesn't bother me plus I think they traded for Welker when he was 25. If Cosby can run 4.4 as one site says, he's worth a 2nd day shot IMO. I also like the athleticism of Massaquoi but his hands can be a problem. We already have that going on.

just for the record we didn't draft Patten he was with the Giants and I think Browns before us.

He was awsome when he was here and I'ld take him back cheap.

I have to say Robiskie is the best WR to come out of OSU since Ginn hes a real deep threat, now that I read some more I'm not sold on Cosby hes really only slot material at best. Not sure if we will be able to snag Robiskie depending where he falls but he was coached by his father who also happens to be the Falcons WR coach.
