Fred Jackson is a FA. If he doesn't come cheap, another downhill running UDFA would do for me.

Maroney
Faulk
Morris
BJGE
BJGE '09

Looks fine to me.

I don't think this is "news" - he's going to be looking for a better contract and more touches than we can give him. I'd love to have him back but I don't think anyone was expecting it.

Dump LoMo, wave goodbye to Jordan....and sign Brandon Jacobs. Although Jacobs states that he wants to be a Giant next year, and I read that he could see a $6.5 mill/year contract that includes $18 mill signing bonus. Alot of money for a position that sees its fair share of injuries....but BB paid Clock Killin Corey Dillon $5 mill/ year. The guy is a difference maker....and it's not my money:)

Fred Jackson is an exclusive rights free agent. Meaning he can't negotiate with another team. Meaning that he isn't really a free agent. Even if he was a restricted FA, they probably would 1st round tender him anyway.

My vote would be to let BJGE step up and draft a first day RB. Of importance would be to sign Evans or upgrade the FB position. This team doesn't have a good record for having 16-game RB's. Other than Faulk, I can't think of one. "Cheaper by the dozen" should be the watchword.

Awesome, can't wait for BJGE to get a full season in the committee.

a mid to low draft pick could be a good idea.

Let Jordan walk, Maroney could moonwalk his way out of Gillete. Sammy, BJGE, Faulk are good enough. Trade a 3rd or 4th rounder for LT lol...

Jordan showed me enough, when healthy, to command a respectable vet salary on a team that needs depth at RB. We simply don't need that depth.

Maroney stays put because the combination of upside and affordability is too good a value to cut. I hated him this year, but I am willing to give him a chance to prove that it was the injury that limited him this year. He looked very good for the last 6 weeks of last season.

Eh, I liked what I saw from him late in the season, but he's expendable. He spent most of the season on the sidelines injured. When he came in, he complimented Morris really well but I'm hoping we can use Lawfirm to replace his production. Let him go and here's to Maroney have a break out year with Faulk and Morris alongside him! :eat1:

I just liked the depth he gave us. I'll take another JAG so that we still have 4 backs.

Evans, BJGE, Maroney, Morris and Faulk - we really don't need anyone else.

And I think we should give Hochstein some carries... :D

Maybe on short yardage. Seriously, though, I would love to see him at fullback some more next year. It was awesome watching him plow through that pile and have either Jordan or Morris right behind him.

At one point last year Morris, Maroney and Jordan were all injured and BJGE was the only 1st down back. If that happens again this year without Jordan, then Evans and Faulk will have to take 1st downs. I just liked the comfort of knowing that it would take a ridiculous amount of bad luck to have to use Faulk on 1st downs.

After Edwards and Maroney, I never want to see the Pats spend a 1st, or even a second, on a RB again. Too much to spend on someone that gets hit every play. On the other hand, a 3rd or 4th could produce a very good runner and we would have a lot fewer complaints on this board in the event of an injury.

Running back is the easiest position in football to find a servicable player off the streets. If you want any position to run out of depth, its RB.

Jordan's true potential w/ the Pats was never realized due to missing the postseason. He was a bruiser and automatic in short-yardage situations. He showed a lot of promise in the last few games.

I'd like to go get Darren Sproles. The guy's non-stop. I love those kinds of players, plus, Faulk is no spring chicken, and he would excell in his role.
