IF the chargers could catch he would have choked this game away.

17 points isn't enough in the playoffs when your team is built around offense.

So would you agree that last years SB loss was primarily on the offense and not on the D?

In fairness, Manning didn't choke. He didn't have a great game, but he was not the primary reason the Colts lost. The Colts' defense choked. Not Manning.

If individual achievements (MVP) were awarded because the team accomplished something (9 wins) then Manning should be MVP and should also be blamed for this choke. He can't have his cake and not eat it when it's full of crow.

It's the same as saying the Pats offense choked in last years SB. It's an overall choke, scoring only 17 points when you average more.

Yes.

However - the defense DID choke giving up 80+ yards in just over 2 minutes. But as a game it was more on the offense.

Manning played terribly, and there should have been a couple more INTs from Manning face if the Chargers didn't drop the ball. He also fumbled the ball at his own goalline lol. That being said, finally for once the refs absolutely jobbed the Colts instead of propping them up like usual.

I would. Been saying that since the game ended. The offense was crap in the last quarter.

I blame it on the defense because two stupid penalties in a row cost them that game. Even if Sproles didn't run for the TD, Kaeding would have made a field goal from that spot.

I didn't really think Manning really deserved the MVP anyway considering how bad he played early in the year (granted it was due to injuries and him missing the preseason). I didn't think there was a strong MVP candidate this year and Mannings rep and the 9 game winning streak gave him the title.

If your defense only gives up 17 pts it is not their fault no matter how they did it, especially considering last year's offense.

This says it all! Choker.

If Manning choked tonight, you guys must have really thought Brady choked when he threw 2 ints against denver in the playoffs, or threw an int against the colts on the final drive in the afc championship game.

(for the record, i was suprrised by manning getting so many MVP votes...)

The Denver game was uncharacteristically bad all-round, and Brady was a part of it.

As for the INT against Indy after the defense melted down, not really. Try coming from behind with receivers that wouldn't make it to the Colts' practice squad when the game is on the line. How many times has Manning tried that feat? That would be never. The fact that Brady kept the offense in the game with that cast speaks volumes of Brady's presence in pressure situations.

And other than the goal line sack, I do not fault Manning with the loss and would not call this a choke on his part. You fly or die in the playoffs as a team, not on the shoulders of one player.

It was mostly the offense's fault but when you're put at the 18 or so with about 2:30 left, you have to win the game. It wasn't "their" fault but it was partly "their" fault.

Too bad we had to give him his only SB. But tonight is an excellent night :)

Note to Indy defense...when THREE of you have the TE stopped 4 yards short of the first down, you MUST tackle him...unless three of you is not enough. Nice D,Dungeness Crab.
