Goodbye, Mangina. Enjoy coaching pee-wee football you rat bastard.

I don't see Cowher in NY at all. I think the Browns job is his for the taking, since he'll have control over everything there. Why would he want to work under Tannenbum?

Other's make a good point though. Mangini amd Favre lost this season for the Jests. I expect them to be better next year with a competent coach.

Cowher has turned down the Browns already and is reportedly saying he won't be coaching in 2009.

I think he was only interested in the Carolina job and Fox has done enough to keep that for another year.

because you know other gm's around the league KNOW what a shameless backstabber he is, and the likelihood of him getting another shot right away is minimal

Total conjecture, but I think the "judas" reputation isn't going to hurt him as much as the "no leadership, players totally disrespect him, creates toxic locker room" reputation. From Johnson's comments, it seemed like the decision was made early on and on that basis.

adios you fat rat-bastard piece of **** sack of trash.

I heard ****'s Sporting Goods is hiring cashiers.

i dont want to see marty in nyc. he sucks in the playoffs but his teams become very good and consistent in the regular season.

Who in the NFL would hire mangini now? Considering how he completely betrayed his relationship with his longtime mentor, who could ever trust this rat again?

Then again, this is the NFL, so you know some moron might take a chance with him....I heard the Raiders may need someone, he would fit right in with Al Davis.

he will definitely get a job somewhere as a D coordinator. Lot of stinky teams.Detriot,JAX,oakland, tampa

Keegs quick, who do you hate more; Rat Bastard or the Holy One? :D

Honestly, Mangini has been a problem, but if the Jets owner and/or manager thinks he WAS the problem, they better think again.

Mostly, this was Tenenbaum's fault.

Anyone could see that going on a free agent binge ala Snyder's Redskins was not going to work, and then when you draft Vernon Gholston on top of the binge, well, you're setting your coach up for failure.

The Jets have a nice offensive line with a good running game. That certainly is something o build on. And a good CB.

They need help practically everywhere else.

I don't even think that is true. Part of the problem with Miami game, was that the Jet running game was averaging 2-3 yards a rush, from that fabled O-line and RB. Jones is a good steady 3 yard a carry RB. Its why he has bounced around. He got 1300 yards, three yards at a clip. Washington is Kevin Faulk-sized and can only be used in Faulk's style, IMHO. In most of their losses, they could not control the clock or move the ball relying only on the rush. Favre had to produce and he couldn't.

But the Jets have zero depth everywhere.

BB warned Mangini about the intolerable situation in the AFCE Meadowlands. He got out, after seeing it close-up. Jets fans are truly intolerant, impatient, and STUPID.

They ran a Coach who produced 10-6 and 9-7 seasons in three years out of town. Along with a QB who guided the Phins to an 11-5 record. The Favre trade ranks with the acquisition of MVP Kapp by the Pats, when the Sullivans were grasping at straws, without the money to compete. Now Jet fans urge the re-conversion to the 4-3, with players that don't fit! Typical.

It was obvious to any observer that a 40 year old, just ran out of gas after 8 or 9 games, like you would expect a 40 year old to do, and Jets fans are too dumb to recognize it. Sixteen game seasons wear out even young rookies. So shoot the (somewhat) innocent, kill the wounded, and reward the incompetent.

Welcome to the AFCE cellar for another decade. Meanwhile, oblivious Jetskis are CERTAIN that a Cower or a Shottenheimer would just jump at the chance to descend into that talentless, QB-less, maelstrom.

Damn.

Now there is the possibility the Jets will hire someone competent.

This sucks.

Screwed by the Jets two days in row!

Very very true, but the enjoyment from Mangina being unemployed is too great to ignore.

i suspect jon gruden, rex ryan and steve spagnolu as the next jets coaches.

What half way decent Coach would consider the Jets? They all want an Opportunity, not a Sentence !

The Jets wil be forced to take some unknown, possible upcoming hotshot, or a re-tread, like the Cardinals always had to do, after competent Coaches exited Stage Right, laughing out loud, at the very thought.

I think retread Norv Turner will be becoming available soon, even though he got to .500.

I have to wonder what effect this will have on the ol' hillbilly making his decision about retirement. Sounds like he got along with Mangenius well enough, and does he really feel like starting over with a new coach?

Exactly. What good coach would consider working under Tannenbaum while having to face the Pats twice a year and share a stadium with the, ahem, "New York Football" Giants?

F I R E D JETS JETS JETS
karma is a b*tch baby

What's he gonna name his next kid,?

Ahh, reminds of stinkypete's post regarding Spygate on 09-14-2007, 04:04 AM

Not worth worrying about. Mangini is 2 sub .500 seasons away from never coaching in this league again.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Not quite sub .500, but close enough!!!

i know, when i saw this it put a smile on my face. next to go should be favre

To be honest, this to me is better then a playoff berth this year, I was happy we had a winning season this year and was not about to get greedy. Mangini has given all the jealous haters something to cling on forever, he even ruined his own legacy here as a coach just to get BB back how pathetic and petty. I don't think he relized that if they are all calling us cheaters and we cheated to get the rings, HE was part of that, so if BB is a cheater, he is too.

Although in a perfect world Ravens lose, Mangini gets fired and The Pats get to stomp the fins on national tv next week.

But seriously we have done great this last decade, I would forfiet a playoff spot this year to see him get canned. And now no one will want him because no one can trust him. I don;t know if you guys remember but the week after that, Brian Billick accused HIM of cheating when his guys where calling fake snap counts. This shows that the Coaches as a whole did not like what he pulled at all. So now we will see what happens and I have a feeling he will even have to compete for a highschool job.

What blows my mind is tonight I heard Vic Carucci saying that Mangini might get another HC job. (Granted, this was after he was asked which out of the three coaches fired today had the best shot of getting a new job in the coming weeks.) Sure we're biased at this site, but honestly, who's going to hire this dork?
