According to WFXT in Boston...Seau is signed...

Just listened to the sports at 11....and 4,5 and 7 mentioned they THOUGHT Seau would sign..Steaens..old Butchie said he already has according to a source...GOOD news...

Actually, I might be happy they waited this long. At Seau's age, I wonder how long he can play at a high level. Rather not risk him petering out come playoff time. Granted we might have an easier road to the playoffs if he came back earlier.

Word is he is in TOP shape. So he can come in for 20-30 snaps a game will be good, and the young line backers have another GREAT HOF vet to learn from, extremely valuable experiement in my opinion.

I know...it's a tough one..with Thomas, Redd, Woods, and Bruschi all injured...they had to do something. I tend to think this is sort of last move for the playoff run sort of thing. With Guyton and Mayo...rookies, they need a vet inside if Bruschi is out. Seau will help inside with Colvin helping outside. Not sure whuch..Redd or Woods will end up IR...but one will. Also what this will do is give others a chance to recoup..like Bruschi...and having a few vets will also help the rooks a great deal.

If this is confirmed and AT is back soonish coupled with the Colvin signing, I'm feeling pretty positive about the last 4 regular season games.

If Seau is signed, that means one of Redd, Woods or Crable is going to the IR since Colvin took Webster's spot on the roster.

Great news because it shows that BB still likes our chances of making a run at the playoffs and maybe doing some damage if we get there.

At the same time, it's kind of a no brainer--we have a pretty good chance to make it if we win out and obviously you can't just write the season off and say "we didn't deserve to be in the tournament anyways," or "given all the injuries, this just isn't our year." I was starting to think that that kind of defeatist mentality was creeping in and that the FO would stand pat like they have all year. Thank goodness that's apparently not their mentatity right now. Even with Brady going down, the core of a team that went 18-1 last season is still here, and therefore missing the playoffs just isn't acceptable.

Also, like most everyone else, I wish they would have made one of these these moves sooner. I understand the logic of letting the younger guys get reps but think guys like Colvin and Seau were needed for their leadership if nothing else.

I wonder if this signing and the Colvin signing has anything to do with Thomas status... we all think of Redd and Woods, but are we missing the obvious???

What better Vet to teach the young players the kind of attitude BB
wants from his players. Junior's attitude is contagious and I bet that
has something to do with the signing. Even it PATs don't make it
into the playoffs it's something the young players will remember.
I just hope Junior imparts his ways to Mayo for the future.

I was hoping he'd come back at the start of the season or there abouts but better late than never. I'm delighted he's rumoured to be back, he might be getting on but he brings more fire than most kids.

Shame he isn't 29.

He was reportedly the guy who was calling around Boston and spread the Tedy Bruschi is dead panic last summer.
