I expected them to come out and play their best, as we have seen for so long. To not even compete is a failure of coaches and especially players. Major changes are needed. A team collapse.

Re: Very disappointing.

I don't think anyone should over react.
They have had a serious problem with injuries and just are too paper thin at too many positions.
the Steelers are simply better than them this year and yes the Patriots had a bad game, but its also the same team who scored 79 ponts over teh previous 2 games.

the Patriots are not as good or as bad as most people on this board think

Re: Very disappointing.

paper thin has ZERO to do with dropped passes, and fumbles or INTS.

This is pathetic, It looks like I'm watching the Detroit Lions out there.

Re: Very disappointing.

cut every last player, and fire BB.

is that what you are wanting? Somehow, I don't see how that helps...

Re: Very disappointing.

I have to give some credit to our defense today, they played good enough to beat a good team.

But overall this team is just very careless and makes far too many simple mistakes that you shouldn't make. Drops, unforced fumbles, bonehead penalties, etc. How to fix it, I have no idea, but if they just simply limit those mistakes we are far better than what we looked today. Mind boggling how careless this team is after what we're used to seeing.

Re: Very disappointing.

No, not every one, but some players proved they belong (Faulk), and some proved they do not (O'Neal).

Re: Very disappointing.

I'd love nothing more then to see Pees go. That guy is in way above his head. Last seasons offense hid how bad the defense really was. The Super Bowl was good but other then that they made bad QB's look like Pro Bowlers even with Samuel and Rodney back there.

So what street FA do we pick up when we cut O'Neal?

Re: Very disappointing.

I still can't get over that 2nd down and 1 yard to go and McDummy calls 5 wides, WTF was that?

Re: Very disappointing.

Let's face it, this is a mediocre team going nowhere.

Re: Very disappointing.

Putting aside injuries, the team is lacking in execution of discipline.

We got away from what got us wins today. Credit to the Steelers. They capitalized on the momentum swing.

Their Defense won them the game and Big Ben rode that in. A 9-3 team is a pretty good bloody team.

Re: Very disappointing.

Welcome to 10 and 6 and no playoffs this year. Not the end of the world. I'm looking forward to a break.

10-6 is NOT EVEN CLOSE To being a given here......we are now 7-5 and have road games against 2 teams that have NOTHING TO LOSE (Seattle/Oak) ......come back home to face a tough Zona team,.....and finish away at Buffalo.....we could just as easily finish 8-8, 9-7 or WORSE.....Yes, from what we have seen thus far.....Seattle and Oakland should be victories....but they are AWAY....and these teams have NOTHING To play for and that can make them dangerous.......Lets not put the cart before the horse.....

As far as a break goes my friend......we need to realistically be prepared for perhaps several years of BREAKS.......Last year was our last chance to win a SB for many years to come IMHO......We need to go into full rebuilding mode as far as the defense goes and much work needs to be done on our OL........In talking to friends of mine that are Redskin and Jest fans (neither are obnoxious or we wouldn't be friends)......and they are talking about how many years it has been since they have been IN IT........a long time.......we need to get prepared for this.........it's going to take awhile to get back to the top

Re: Very disappointing.

The thing that's most disappointing to me is a flurry of very very bad threads.

It's not that people are venting about a loss - its just stupid threads like "Gee - who would have thought cold and wet conditions made the ball slippery?"

They lost a game against an excellent defense in some conditions that gave the defense a big edge. Accept it and move on.

Re: Very disappointing.

This game reminds me of the game they lost to the Jets in '06. There's nothing to worry about (except for that sorry ass defense). As long as the weather stays dry, the Pats should be fine next week.

Oh Jesus. The sky is falling, the sky is falling! Lets be serious, if lets say Brady, Harrison, and Wheatley all avoid the injury bug this year, there's no doubt in my mind that this team is declared the "best team in the AFC". It's not going to take a while and unless you're a bandwagon fan who jumped on post 2001, this isn't going to be that painful. We've been through worse. That 1998+1999 two year run with Pete Carroll saw the complete decimation of the New England Patriots. Know what happened? Belichick came in, cleaned house, and turned the Pats into a Super Bowl Winner after one full season.

What's killed this team more than anything is years of high draft picks. This year, in the middle of the round, they should be able to get a real impact player at whatever position they deem most urgent.
