The Official 'Trade Brady' Debate Thread - Do Not Start Another One

Dale and Holley just signed off on a note that sums up the lunacy. Cassel has had arguably 5 great games in his career. Brady has had twice as many great games just in the playoffs...where he's 14-3 over 7 seasons. And he's only 31, imagine trading that...

Maybe that's why Brady went to a West Coast surgeon for his procedure. So, how'd your 24/7 rehab at Gillette go, badly too? LOL

The offers made and listened to will be for Cassel...

ask anyone that has gone through knee surgery if their knee was ever the same again, ask them about the flare ups, about when the weather changes

obviously, you have no idea what you are talking about

Tom Brady is damaged goods

I don't care what anyone thinks, or how much that statement bothers them
If you think that he will come out of this surgery no worse for wear your out of your mind, they will make his knee work, but it will never be 100%

ask around buddy, ask the people who have had this surgery

we are not sure if we make it to the playoff with Cassel. You are thinking about giving up TB next year? I don't know what you are thinking.

TB is GOD one day and he is a expendable person next day. I don't know what to say.

Re: The Official Trade Brady Thread

No, the silliness of people who are silly enough to claim that this "is a perfectly reasonable and legitimate point of discussion" is what has been embarrassing.

Even worse is that such people are so obtuse that they don't even know enough to be embarrassed.

No.....again, what's embarassing are the know-nothings such as yourself who are unable to engage ideas on their merits. And I mean really embarassing--the name-calling and hysteria has been pathetic.

Nice post Mo.

I agree - Can't we all just realize that we got a solid QB right now and we are looking at the return of one of the greatest of all time next year?

Please let the lunacy stop about how this injury will affect Tom in 2009. No one knows today how Tommy will feel in Sept. 2009 - Not even Tom.

But if anyone wants to bet me that Tom F'n Brady won't do everything in his power to be back at 100% by the start of next season - I'll take that action.

Re: The Official Trade Brady Thread

What has always driven me nuts about the free speech contrarians here, and we've had quite a few, is they never admit they're irrational opinions were idiotic because apparently that's not a viable option since they are "entitled" to them... Rather their tack is to rail against reasoned intolerance for irrational opinions. It's not agree with me or you're an idiot. You're an idiot if you post irrational drivel for the sake of argument and can't take being called on it without hiding behind the childish right to my opinion card...

So would it make you feel all warm and fuzzy if we personally PMed every post to you for approval prior to hitting the submit button? You are what's wrong with this message board.

I'll ask you again..... How exactly is this trade an obvious possibility? What is your inside information that you've been withholding that makes your statement accurate?

You're making ridiculous claims and then attacking those who point out the utter folly of such claims.

Instead of calling people silly because their opinion differs from them, maybe you should actually discuss the topic at hand. Why do you think it would be a bad thing to dump our greatest player ever who very well might not be the same in exchange for some draft picks and possible cap space that would allow our defensive mastermind coach to completely retool our putrid defense while still maintaining a very potent offense. What everyone is loosing site of it that I think the majority of us don't really want to see this happen but on the same hand can see how it would be beneficial to this team.

Never! As much as I like what MC is doing,he's not TB!

Anyone ever notice that the longer a thread gets, the more likely a virtual fight gets started? And that the thread survives only because of the fight and not the content of the thread itself?

Deus - You're one of the best posters on this site - Don't get tricked into a stupid fight.

I'm not losing sight of anything, because the argument you make is not a valid one. That's true on pretty much every level of your argument, by the way.

Nicely put.......

Re: The Official Trade Brady Thread

BLASPHEMY!!!!!!

Don't you know that it is written: "He shall be made to suffer injured reserve and be out for a season. Tom shall pass, Tom shall fall, Tom shall rise again!"

Tom Brady is my Quarterback I shall not want!

He taketh us fans to Bowls Super, He leadeth the league in years past!

He restoreth his knee and shall leadeth the Pats of Righteousness for his team's sake!

Yea, though we walk through the valley of the shadow of Jets, I will fear no evil: for thou art with us, thy backup and wide receivers they comfort me.

Thou preparest a comeback before me in the presence of thine enemies! Our cups runneth over!

Surely greatness and no-mercy shall follow you all the days of your career: and I will dwell in the house of TOM BRADY for ever!

CAN I HEAR AN AMEN????

AMEN !!:singing:

Never! As much as I like what MC is doing,he's not TB!

amen he will never be TB and if we fail to make the playoffs everyone here will be calling for his head

I planned to stay out of it after the very first few threads came about, but the attacks on Mo are just idiotic. Mo and I were among the vastly outnumbered defenders of Cassel this summer and early fall, yet suddenly the same yahoos who wanted Cassel cut and working at Walmart think that Cassel should be kept over the greatest quarterback in NFL history, and that Mo should be vilified for pointing out the idiocy of such a notion after 11 games and a 7-4 record.

Actually, "Deus" starts stupid fights by insulting posters rather than either a) providing some input into the discussion, or b) ignoring the thread if he's not interested in it. It's the "this must be stopped!" crowd that litters threads with garbage.

It's not valid because you refuse to believe that it could ever happen. I've seen enough from this front office to realize that pretty much anything is possible.

It's obvious you don't...

Seymour seems to have rebounded OK. Harrison rebounded from much worse to play SS at 34. Palmer had a great comeback season, his knee is no longer the issue... Not McNabb's or Culpepper's either... Rivers has been leading the league since returning from his ACL procedure... SD thought Brees was damaged goods after his shoulder surgery, a lot bigger problem for a pocket passer. Miami passed on him too and it cost Saban his dream NFL job...today he's being touted as an MVP. Pennington was damaged for fair...oh wait...

I prefer to listen to the people who have done the surgery on elite athletes because they are generally better qualified to assess the situation. My aunt had both knees done a few years ago and the one done by the guy I made her go see at NE Baptist is better than new, while the one done by the guy who did her primary's mother's hip (whom I begged her not to go to) is beyond salvage. If you don't understand that the average Joe doesn't get the medical attention elite athletes do, there is no point in discussing this with you further.

The point is that discussing the issue of the potential long-term worth of Cassel vs. a 32-year-old qb coming off major surgery—even if he’s the greatest qb of all-time—is a perfectly reasonable and legitimate point of discussion, one that the Cold Hard Football Facts went into some detail on. The hysteria by the—nitwits, morons, idiots, mouth-breathers—board members who have seizures when the idea is raised has been embarrassing.

LOL

I'm still waiting for you to answer my question, and you continue to avoid doing so.

I don't care who started it. Argue your point in a way that does not cut on a member of the forum that loves the team as much as you.

And I'm not directing this just to you, please don't take it that way.

I think that this thread can continue to be a productive thread if it's not hijacked by a few arguments from guys and gals that get lost in the moment of an argument.

Sorry. Just a little frustrated with it all today.
