Re: The Official Trade Brady Thread

With all due respect, I think this thread should be renamed the "Official Trading Brady Debate Thread." The title makes it sound like a thread advocating him being traded, and that is clearly not the content of it.

It might as well be titled "The Official 'Not Gonna Happen' Thread".

How about the sack BB and bring back Rod Rust thread Deus ;)

Re: The Official Trade Brady Thread

I'm guessing after one loss where Cassel has bad game will be all it takes for this nonsense to die out. Until Cassel wins at least 2 SBs, this whole thing is pointless. Keep in mind that Cassel is playing with 2 all pro WRs and 3 OLs that went to probowl last year. Brady won SBs with much less. Why trade proven winner?

Re: The Official Trade Brady Thread

Pete Carroll never got a fair shot.

Re: The Official Trade Brady Thread

Cassel's done great for us, but Brady is irreplaceable.
Brady is not irreplaceable. Brady is on IR and Cassel has replaced him this year, and is the team's QB for 2008.

In 5-6 years someone will replace him for good.

No one is irreplaceable. Everyone gets replaced eventually.

Re: The Official Trade Brady Thread

If God forbit the Pats dont make the playoffs, this will be the biggest mute point in the history of the board.
There was never a mute point on this board!

Re: The Official Trade Brady Thread

Michael vick
or
Adrian Peterson

these are two names I might consider, but too bad one is in jail, and the team the other one is on doesnt have much to offer.

Re: The Official Trade Brady Thread

Why don't we also trade Moss and Welker while we are at it?

We could get a lot of players / picks for them too... Also, we could also trade our fan base to the team acquiring them.

Brady will be back and knowing his attitude towards the game, he will work twice as hard once he's back and we'll be "Unstoppable".. (God.. I hate those Eli Manning ads .. it reminds of that stupid SB loss, the game that every Pats fan would like to forget)

"Irreplaceable" also refers to the idea that you can't adequately replace somebody. You can put somebody in the hole they leave but you can't equal what was once there. Brady is irreplaceable.

Re: The Official Trade Brady Thread

Okay, here are my thoughts. I like the kid, I didnt in the beginning, I'll admit that, but he's impressed me in a way that Tom Brady didnt his first year. Yeah Tom Brady is a great QB, but he took a long time to become the QB we all saw last year. Cassel now that he knows the offense and is comfortable he's making plays that Brady could never. Cassel is as good of a passer as Brady, he needs some work on his long ball, I wont argue that, but I can all ready see an improvement in that. I believe that this kid has a lot of potential and that the Patriots should move on and let someone else take the risk of Brady not getting the game back and develop this kid who has shown me a lot of potential. I know many of you will disagree, but thats what this is here for, for us fans to talk things like this out.

Brady didn't have Moss, Welker and Gaffney until last year. Cassel has only ever had them.

I find it kind of amazing how people here can forget how terrible everyone thought we were in 2001 until Brady took the helm. It's not like the only problem we had was Drew Bledsoe.

Let's be honest. We all love Brady and think highly of him over Cassel, even though he's never going to be the scrambler that Cassel is. That said, if there was ever a coach with ice in his veins, it would be Belichick. As horrible as it might seem for us, you know he is at least thinking about it. I'll say this about myself though: I don't think I could root for the pats if they traded Tom, at least not as much as I do now.

Re: The Official Trade Brady Thread

Dont think you would be alone on that thought......

Re: The Official Trade Brady Thread

remember the outcry after the LM move? that would be nothing compared to what would happen if brady was gone

Re: The Official Trade Brady Thread

-ok i hardly post on here, but this thread is so out of this world i had to post.

-what the hell?!?! this is so pathetic anyone who wants to trade tom brady one of the faces of this franchise is a complete moron and is not in any way shape or form a patriots fan, i dont care what your argument is your wrong.

-lets not forget he helped us to 3 superbowl titles and threw 50 touchdown passes last year. hes not done and hes not going to have a bum knee and matt cassel is not better than him.

-im not bashing cassel i love him and hes done a GREAT job this year, but come on lets be serious, tom brady is the best quaterback in the league, and hes going to show everyone that again in 2009.
