League officials celebrated with Jets?

This board has been a black hole of excuses over the last few months. You can try and dodge the issue all you want.....word things in a way that makes it seem like you are not an excuse making baby, but I know better.

Again, if this was four years ago, us pats fans would be blasting other teams for this kind of garbage. Goodel is not in the Jets pocket, and all this crying makes us look like the fans we used to hate the most. One brilliant poster said "we were still the better team" (even though we lost to the jets). Is that not word for word what the chargers said in 06?

And I would imagine plenty of us said that the 06 chargers were better not me but........

Damn, you guys lose an OT game and suddenly the rules of OT need to be changed and the league is against you.

Come the hell on.

I love all these posts about holding too, where were all you guys when the Colts recievers were being held by the Pats in the playoffs?

I forgot, a flag should be thrown only if it's against the Pats.

You guys have always been paranoid, but it's getting to crazy levels around here. It is funny though.
You're an idiot. The rule was changed because of the holding on the Colts receivers. Here we are a few years later, with the rule still in place, and Ty Law gets away with grabbing Randy Moss. We aren't allowed to complain about that? It's in the rulebook, enforce it.

You forget the Polian rules only apply when you play the
Colts. The Goodell rules apply when you play his Jets.

You're a joke.....the type of fan we used to hate around here. Man, the excuses on this board are at an all time high

It's really just a silly thing, the kind of thing Florio makes his bones on. In my view, it represents nothing. Just because Ray Anderson walks by the camera.....Florio's a fruitcake.

Don't let his kind of foolishness get you all wound up. There's no conspiracies out there, they just need to get better if they're going to get back to the top of the league.

They're 1-2 in their last three games, both losses to teams that are now ahead of them in the playoff race. That's how these things get decided, on the field, we ought to know that.

They've been competitive, they've battled, but they're not quite good enough right now. They make too many critical mistakes, as we saw with the blown coverage on 3rd and 15 as just one example. Whioch is not the worst thing that could happen - they're mixing in new players and they need to learn.

League a little defensive there..............their response adds a little fire to that smoke IMHO.

Could it be there are forces in the NFL that wants to orchestrate a NY Jets vs NY Giants Superbowl. It makes for a great "story". the Hero Favre vs. Mannning, etc. They consider the Pats a mere bump on the road.
Go Pats :singing:

At least I am not a troll masquerading as a Pats fan. By the way where were you before April 2008. I guess you waited until the Pats started losing to get on the the site.

Now look at the Pats TD to Moss.

Ty Law had both arms wrapped around Moss. Both of them. And nothing.

I thought this too. But then I read up on this year's rule changes.

Once the QB leaves the pocket, it's a running play and the receivers loose the protection of pass interference. Cassell was out of the pocket when he rolled to throw the ball to Randy.

There was an article in a NY newspaper after the game where a reporter asked Law why he didn't tackle Moss (legally) and Law admitted he didn't know that he could.

who cares. lets make it to the playoffs and celebrate at the 50 yard line of the meadowlands in january

On it's face this looks pretty bad for the NFL although will not get any play. Without really knowing the context of the the official's comment though, I don't know if it is as sinister as it looks.

There is an obvious NY bias in the league offices. Most of the employees there are usually from the NY area and are either Giants or Jets fans. I don't know if that means there are overt acts of favorism in games.

My earlier point regarded possible unconsious bias and a biased worldview unable to see the positives in a key rival's case, e.g. Spygate and the wildly differing reactions to the Jets using cameras vs the Patriots.

I most object to league officials putting such an important division game on the NFL Network, which effectively amounted to a blackout for a lot of Pats fans. Fans here in Maine seem furious about that decision.

Official NFL rules....

NFL Rules Digest: Pass Interference

New rule changes for 2008...

New NFL rules for 2008

Nothing even remotely close to what you are saying is in the official rules of the NFL or this year's update.

where did you "read up" on this fairy story?

Beaten, but not defeated - The Boston Globe

The quote: "When Law retreated to the sideline, a coach told him he could have shoved Moss out of bounds before the pass because Cassel had left the pocket. That maneuver would have been pass interference last season; the rule was changed in the offseason, and Law didn't realize it."

If this is the new rule then why don't we generally see every receiver wrapped up the second a QB breaks the pocket?

I wonder the same thing. I expect as the season runs on, we may start seeing more and more CBs taking advantage of this rule change.

not to belabor the point but the question has NOT BEEN ANSWERED. I posted the NFL rules and updates....WHERE do you see this "new rule"? I see nothing even remotely close to what some Jet coach told Law.
