League officials celebrated with Jets?

I won't allow myself to get worked up over this. Despite the fact we lost the game, I still believe the Pats are clearly a better team. Let' see how both teams play out the season.

I am not sure where talent comes into this argument?

Really the issue here is whether it is right for the NFL to route for a team in a particular game. abitilty to win is not the issue and whether we won our lost isnt the issue either it would be just as bad if these officials were condoning Ratgina after a loss or if you had seen them cheering in the game but eventually it was a loss.

And than I have been having fun throwing out conspiracies based on where this could go if the NFL allowed their allegiances to run things as have a few others.

It is to be expected that NFL officials have teams that they are fans of. The problem is that such fandom can lead to unconscious bias or the inability to see the situation fairly when it involves a hated rival, e.g. the Spygate brouha and extreme punishment while similar taping by the Jets was ignored.

The people are fans and of course they can root. As a business, the Favre story is a good one. That said, so is Miami coming back from the crapper, and The Pats fall from glory and subsequent return to the big game in Feb... that's my favourite one... :D

However: if there is celebrating in the league offices, it does cast a darker than usual shadow on weak officiating. Luckily for the NFL, they can just fine complainers.

More and more under Goodell's watch there are instances where you question what you are seeing.

It reminds me of the NBA 4 or 5 years ago. You would watch the games and hear the theories but you assumed that they couldn't be true. Then Donaghy was busted and they were proved correct.

And now with the NFL there are a bunch of instances that individually seem nothing more than odd or unusual occurrences, but when they are all looked at together, a disturbing pattern of corruption emerges.

And I hope I'm wrong because this used to be the best run professional sport...

Damn, you guys lose an OT game and suddenly the rules of OT need to be changed and the league is against you.

Come the hell on.

I love all these posts about holding too, where were all you guys when the Colts recievers were being held by the Pats in the playoffs?

I forgot, a flag should be thrown only if it's against the Pats.

You guys have always been paranoid, but it's getting to crazy levels around here. It is funny though.

yeah...OK, Roscoe Piped-in-crowd-noise

Aw, I saw that you had replied and I came in looking for the most epic anti-Goodell post to date! Odd thing is, I'm starting to agree with you, which is scaring me

You need new material pal.

You forgot to mention that we turned off the air conditioning too, lol.

Who knew that to beat the Pats you just needed to adjust a thermostat right?

Wow, none of you have any right to ever whine about colts fans thinking they lost games due to the refs. What a bunch of crybabys. You are what you hated 4 years ago.......shameful.

Lets look at what people are saying this year:
Injuries are the reason we lost (Say hello to the colts fan circa 2004)
We lost, but we are still the better team (San D was killed for acting like this)
The refs cost us the game/the refs are in the Jets pocket (Say hello to jets fan for the last 8 years)
Officiating caused us to lose (insert game) (colts fans say hello again)

WOW, look at you all. Can you say H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-T-E?

Downhill? I see. We have a bunch of pats fans *****ing about the refs, injuries and corrupt officials, yet we are taking topics downhill? The posters in this thread are what they hated 4 years ago.

HYPOCRITES!

It's ok NJ, I know it's tough being a Pats fan, what with the man always trying to keep your team down.

The Pats never get a break right? Injuries, refs are against you, the media. I feel for you guys.

OMG...the injuries are causing us LOSES!

Jetlifeless will pump some lyfe back into us...with his tricycle tire pump...
