This loss is on Dave Thomas

This loss is on the coaches. Specifically Bill B.

Bingo. Soft defense can't defend a conservative offense. Game plan on offense was fine if the HC hadn't turtled on them on the 4th and inches. Blew the challenge, wasted TO's, gave Manning all day to convert on that 3rd down in the third, and on and on...

Gaffney should have had one for a TD and Thomas should not have committed the PI but this was not one of Bill's best efforts...

It absolutely disgusts me that once again the Colts are given a game via bad decisions by the opponent, and we are at the other end of it this time.

That was the most frustrating loss of the year for me, I feel sick to my stomach on how it ended.

that drop, that penalty, WEIRD GAME

one word to sum it up: PAINFUL :(

Amen to both Thomas and Gaffney. Thomas is a complete and utter tool!

The loss is on a lot of people.

Thomas for his dumbass penalty.

Gaffney for dropping a sure TD.

Belichick for wasting a timeout and giving away four points on the same play (the Cassel sneak) and wasting another timeout on an idiotic challenge.

McDaniels for a ridiculous offensive gameplan that included the worst wildcat derivative ever imagined.

The refs for ignoring two illegal picks that led to the Colts' first TD.

It was an awful game all around.

(Edit: Forgot about the nonexistent pass rush and Deltha O'Neal playing 10 yards off of Harrison when giving up the first would essentially cost us the game.)

The game plan was brilliantly successful. McDaniels didn't drop the sure touchdown pass.

Blame list:

1. Coaches (TO more specifically the last one)
2. Wendy's
3. Jabba the Hut drop.

That's it. Anyone who mentions Cassel needs to be.. or whatever I'm just annoyed now.

Belichick did not manage his best today.. but that thomas play was the nail in the coffin.

The Pats had 342 yards and could have had at least 7 more points (possibly 10) if it wasn't for player mistakes. The Colts couldn't get the Pats off the field. How was the gameplan bad? Yes, there were a handful of bad calls, but the offensive gameplan overall was excellent.

X2...
our offense controlled the game.. time of possession in the second half was great. The last 5 minutes litterly sucked balls..

BB calling a timeout on cassel's sneak hurt too..

The list of people to blame is long, but I think you also have to kind of tip your hat to our former kicker too, as nauseating as it is. Guy made a 52 yarder to beat us for the first time in 7 years.

As for Gaffney v. Thomas, improper execution happens all the time. It sucks, but it's part of the game. Mental errors are another category, so Thomas is my goat. I can't agree it was ticky tack. He went headhunting after the play. The coaching staff's indecision and management were also a problem -- the challenge was classic hubris and way too cute by half. Still, it's hard to get too down on the coaches, because they also put a brilliant game plan in that almost got it done.

Just a comedy of errors, and the bad luck that our success in prior years makes it so this freaking game is always on the road. The solace is that we rarely if ever play well enough to win but lose due to mental mistakes. It's bound to happen once in a while. Hope we got it out of our system. The good news is that there is much to be encouraged about.

Yeah, the McDaniels bashing is ridiculous. I don't know how you can draw up a much more effective gameplan than the one McDaniels had tonight.

That Dave Frickin' Thomas, I am so frickin pissed at him right now. Damn, I can't believe how unbelievably stupid he can be. HE LOST THE GAME! He lost it for his team and for the fans. This loss stings, and mostly because we (ahem, Dave Thomas) shot ourselves in the foot.

This call was terrible. He couldn't even see the play and they let that go all the time.

Coach should have never tried to show up the refs. They stuck it back to him at the right time. That is how it goes.

Also trust your team on 4th down.

We have to stop making second guesses in these close games. never works. Look at NY.

That was so blatant though... the play's dead for a full second, everyone is standing around, and the umpire is 2 feet away... when you look up and see the ball carrier on the ground, already starting to get up, that's a pretty good indication the play is over...

BB's game management was stunningly bad, but in terms of just an absolute killer, Thomas's play is at the top of the list. Awful, awful, awful....

Lost in the horrible decision making tonight is how good Matt Cassel looked. Props to him, hopefully he can keep this up.

If Thomas doesn't commit the terrible penalty we get a field goal to tie at least. We were inches from a first down and could have taken the lead. Instead, we got nothing and lost.

Just terrible.

Let's hope so.. lots of divisional games left..

I noticed that too, I mean Madden isn't right often, but go deep at least a few times to open things up, and there was barely any play action, God the way we were running it down their throats at times they would have bit on that like a hungry fish.

3 plays gave the Colts the win:

Gaffney dropping the ball
Thomas getting the personal foul
BB calling that timeout on 4th down

If any of those don't happen, the Patriots probably win the game.

That's right. We would have won it w/o our top 3 RBs, our all-universe QB, and the heart and soul enforcer of our D.

And yet the Pats still only lost by 3 and were in it to the end.

That = Colts suck.

Dave Thomas and Jabar had equal shares of blame.
Belichick going for 2 point conversion was a bad decision. Poor use of all 3 2nd half time outs.
Josh Mcdaniels sometimes great, sometimes very questionable play-calling.
The lack of pass rush.

We knew this season would be like this.

I wish they'd give up on the short-pass game and stretch the field more. Cassel's playing well enough to let him throw the ball. He played good today too. Blah
