*ROFLMAO* Please stop posting and trying to make everyone else ignorant

Re: Maroney Trade

whatever it is, he has not been a work horse so far. I wish he have some one like barber to take the load off Tom or the current situation that we have. I guess time and patience both are running out ...

There I said it, let the flaming begin :bricks:

You can wish all you want. Its not going to change the Patriots current situation . Please whine somewhere else.

Re: Maroney Trade

Well you have to admit, Maroney was completely useless in the Dolphins game...

Are there always classic "throw so-and-so overboard" threads on the bye week?
Pure entertainment.

Did you watch the game? Clearly not. The whole running game was useless because of the O-line. But, lets be ignorant and just blame it all on Maroney because we want to show everyone just how ignorant Pats fans can be.

Re-read JSn's post. Maroney didn't play in the Miami game......

Re: Maroney Trade

Make fun of me all you like, I don't think our running game would notice the difference and we need to continue to accumulate youth and speed on defense.

Of course you wouldn't. Because you refuse to recognize what the root cause of the problem is for the running game. Its not Maroney. But you keep deluding yourself into thinking it is.

I know Maroney didn't play. But Maroney playing wouldn't have made a difference. That's my point.

JSn was criticizing idiotic threads like this. I think you misunderstood him, which is why I suggested you re-read his post.

Re: Maroney Trade

I have an opinion that makes sense, humor me:

Fact:
Maroney is succesful at sharing the workload (college, rookie year)

Fact:
Maroney is prone to injury (look at his pro career thus far)

What is the variable that has changed? his status on the depth chart

Opinion:
All we have to do is place him further down the depth chart, slip him in as a situational change of pace back, and watch his game improve.

You do realize that Maroney led Minnesota for his sophomore and Junior seasons in touches right?

People who mention about sharing the workload in Minnesota fail to acknowledge that Minnesota ran a run heavy offense. In fact, they ran more rushes in the 3 year period that Maroney was there than any pro team did. And that includes Atlanta and Pittsburgh.

Re: Maroney Trade

Yes, yes it does. And who do you explain why 'lesser' talented rbs such as morris, faulk, and jordan all run better behind that same offensive line. Or perhaps they aren't lesser backs after all?

Well, first off, there is a huge difference in the types of runs that are called. Secondaly, right now, Faulk doesn't have a large enough sample size for a comparison. Most of Jordan's yards have come in the 2nd half of games when the opposing defense was tired. To this point, Morris hasn't out-performed Maroney at all unless a 3.0 YPC magically is better than 3.7.

Look at what Morris and Jordan did last week.Morris was 8 for 27 and Jordan was 6 for 22. Yes.. Those are so much better numbers.

You put that group with a consistent O-line and Maroney will be king of that trio. The O-line play has been below average and last week is was downright horrible.

Well there are 13 games left in the season. If Maroney can get healthy and on the field again he'll have plenty of chances to redeem himself. I'm not expecting Cassel or whoever we bring in to carry the offense this year. The running game MUST be effective.

No one is going to give up a day one pick for Maroney anyway.

I would rather that Maroney be the primary kick returner, and a part of RB committee. Hobbs is more valuable as CB. Go Pats:singing:

I'm thinking two first rounders.

of course we need him just because he is having a bad year doesn't mean we need to cut the cord

Should've traded him while we had the chance and he still had some value to him.

Now we wouldn't be able to get ANYTHING for the guy. He'll be labeled injury prone for the rest of his career.

IMO Maroney is a cancer. Bad attitude and very WEAK.

maroney on IR before LT? what were the odds?

Most of us feel the same way...about you.

Jordan is injured - that's been his history. Morris left the game injured tonight - he missed most of last season. We're now looking at a committee of Faulk and Ben Jarvis Green Ellis...

When I read posts like "Trade Maroney" I just have ot shake my head. How can people who claim to watch football regularly and claim to understand the game, make a statement like this? Some of the posters on this board are really trying to push intelligent discussion out the door in favour of Jerry Springer like overreaction. Please thnk before you start a thread!!!

A 2nd rounder? 3rd rounder at worst? LOL! Are you serious? This fragile piece of glass wouldn't fetch us a ham and cheese sandwich. Good lord. The kid sucks. Admit it people!
