Admittedly, I'm a bit of a stats whore, probably from all the Madden franchises I've made :)

I'm thinking that with the weapons that Cassel has around him, that he's going to put up good to great numbers this season, especially if he's protected by a consistent running game. My year end stats prediction:

275 completions
450 attempts
26 TDs
15 INTs
3212 yards passing
88.1 quarterback rating

something around what Tom had in 2001.

18 td 14 int, 2750 yards. 58% completion.

Did you compute your numbers for that QB rating or is that just an estimate?

p.s. I think you're a little optimistic, especially on the amount of touchdowns thrown.

I don't think those numbers are unrealistic considering that he has Randy Moss to throw to. Remember that Moss made Culpepper look like a god in Minnesota. Now Culpepper can't even get a backup job in the NFL.

Maybe, but he does have Randy Moss and Wes Welker catching TDs for him. If Randy gets 12+ (and he probably will) and Welker gets 6+, that's 18+ right there. Jabar Gaffney will get a few as well, as will Kelley Washington and Ben Watson. Also, Dave Thomas and Kelley Washington will get a few. He might not hit 26 but its definitely possible.

Re: What do you think Cassell's end of year stats will be?

28 TD
16 INT
3450 Yards

Patriots will be 11-5 and have an outside shot at the Superbowl.

If he has those stats I'm guessing we'll be better than 11-5. Based on our defense alone those numbers would probably propel us for a 12-4, 13-3 season.

ill go with 33 TD's
8 INT
2956 yds
62%

and i also see us going 11-5 at worst...most likely 12-4

If he throws 28 TD, we're going to win at least 12 games (if not more) with the schedule we have. That's damn near 2 a game. Don't forget, we have some good backs too.

I'd be happy with 22-23.

If he throws for 28-33 TD's like some of you are saying he is going to cash in next year as a FA, unless of course the Pats franchise him. That's getting a little ahead of ourselves though. If he finishes the year north of 18 TD's and south of 12-14 int's and around 2,800 yds I'll be ecstatic.

2400 yards passing

22 TD's

14 Int

125 yards rushing w 3 TD's:D

Does Ben Watson still play for the Patriots? He's shown so much promise and delivered so little that I can't remember.

IF he lasts as QB by the end of the regular season...

18 TDs
22 INTs
2,398 Yards

Sorry,I see this team avoiding the pass as much as possible and I think when Cassel does pass he will have problems especially against the better teams

My guess would be:

Completion % - 58%
3300 Yards Passing
19 TDs
17 INTs

I know my expectations are low, but I can't handle any more disappointment this year. (still hurting :( )

I don't know what they will be. I think INTs is the key stat. If he can keep TD to INTs beter than 1 to 1, we could be in business.

3,300 yards passing????

IMO Cassel does not even sniff 3,000 yards this season
The 2008 Pats version will be a complete different team than last year

RUN RUN RUN and pass when needed

I agree fully. I don't expect Cassel to light things up like Brady would. I HOPE for him to be a consistant QB who makes good decisions with the football. He's gonna take his fair share of hits and sacks, he'll throw his picks and TD's. but as long as he dosen't go out there and resemble anything Rex Grossman-like, he should be fine.
