Now that's a photoshop! Good stuff!

Considering he only played 5 offensive snaps in the 3 post season games that year behind bug eyes, troy and gaffney, the chances are high he got hurt on ST. However the injury was not really disclosed until much much later so I guess we know as much about the play he got hurt on as the one that injured Brady's ankle against the charger's last year.

No, we do know and it was a ST play but he was hurt away from the ball and I can't recall if he was part of the return team or playing as a gunner. Bill talked about wanting and expecting to use him as a returner even in his rookie season, but somehow that never materialized either. He looked like an indecisive deer in the headlights the few times I saw him returning kicks. And he muffed or nearly muffed a couple in regular season games. The other CJ had some mishaps in preseason fighting to get noticed for a roster spot. But he also looked explosive and decisive in the return game.

im still sooooooo aggravated over this:

greg jennings and jason spitz for chad jackson

words can not explain how upset this made me on draft day, made me two yrs ago, made me last yr, and more than ever makes me now

patchick, I watched the same preseason that you did. Let's summarize:

CJ Jones (1 TD) (3 fumbles) and a game ending 4th down catch that bounced right off his numbers from Kevin O'Connell. Game over.

Chad Jackson (2TDs) (0 fumbles)

(Both of these guys had some nice interior catches on slants and YAC after those catches)

Ventrone (0 TDs), I mean ok, he had some nice slot receptions, but to be honest (Ventrone is more of a hback-hybrid than a WR)

Honestly, can you say that both of these guy did more than Chad in these 4 pre-season games?

What you apparently did NOT watch was the weeks of daily or 2 a day practise sessions where the HOF ex-WR failed repeatedly to distinguish himself from the JAG WRs. Those JAG WRs showed more ability to learn the offense and play STs. Read the Dookfish's, Mrs B's and my (the kindest of all) training camp observations.

Speaking of 'stats' in those 4 games, it's likely that this coaching staff faulted C Jack for two QB killer INTs rather than weaving elaborate excuses for the player, but hey what do the professionals who watched him daily in person and repeatedly after practise on film repeatedly know anyway?

im confused, i thought chad actually looked good when he was on the field playing, sure hes had a couple bad plays but every player does, he has shown he can be a scoring threat hes caught 5 TDs starting 1 game in his career and playing a handful of plays throught his rookie season and in one full preseason. That is actually pretty good for sure a small amount of playing time. If he had played a full season starting and was healthy i really believe he can be a 10-13 TD type player. I think he was cut because of his attitude and his inability to mesh with the players and coaches, which is too bad.

Puhleze....enuff with the Chad Jackson ball washing! Chads only ability was to run as straight and fast as he could and hope the QB could put it into his breadbasket. The guy sucks as a receiver and even worse as a returner. Hes got the gray matter of a beetle. He is not, and will in all likelihood never be anything close to an NFL wideout. And heres why. That would require something Chad is seemingly very squeamish about: work.

Everybody makes mistakes, and I have credited BB with quickly recognizing and admitting his. That said, I would nominate this one as one his biggest errors. Jennings and Moss would have been a great tandem (love Gaff, but big step up), and Spitz would be solidifying our OL today....

Somebody bump that pic of beating a dead horse.....pleeeeze!

Can this thread not be killed?
Vlad the Impaler didn't survive this long.

I'm warning all of you to cease and desist or I'll reincarnate the Immortal Earthwind Moreland thread and pay serious money to make it a "sticky".

Stick a fork in Chad Jackson...or better yet a wooden stake..... or else.

......This is my last warning,Caveat Emptor, people

To say the majority of people "don't care about him any more" and have "forgotten him", this thread seems to be getting longer and longer.

He's no longer our problem. Harsh, but true. Good luck to the kid in whatever he tries to do with his career or his life, but people should just forget about it.

I think people will forget him after a few years, with honorable biggest bust posts mentions once in a while. He was a lot of the fans hopes and dreams for this team, and it won't go away anytime soon. :D

what makes it so difficult is i, as well as a ton of other posters in here, loved jennings that yr and really wanted us to draft him
my man crush started for jennings when i drafted him in madden a few yrs ago (used to rent ncaa, simulate four seasons, and export the drafts to madden), when i started doing research on the wrs in that draft my man crush grew and grew, to the point that i had never been with a possible draft pick, i saw something in him, as im sure others did when they came in here saying he would be a great pick in the second or third round, and it's just a very hard pill to swallow when you personally are very high on the guy the pats could have had (and the guy that was taken with their pick-ala jerry rice) and that guy ends up bein nasty while the guy the pats actually drafted is the definition of a bust

ha that would be funny if he signs in the division.

looks like Cincy is not gunna pick him up.

As Scout Rumor Central first reported earlier this week, free agent WR Chad Jackson had workouts with the Oakland Raiders and Cincinnati Bengals.

A league source notes Oakland still has interest in signing Jackson next week but Cincinnati doesn't have interest in signing a receiver at this point since Chris Henry will be back from his suspension after Week Four.

The Tennessee Titans are monitoring their receiver situation and could decide to bring in Jackson for a workout some time next week.

if the Dolphins dont sign him he will probably be a raider after week 1.

I would think Philly would try him out seeing they lost Curtis and now Reggie Brown is out with an injury.

Miami won't let this get to next week.........

Was listening to the Titans GM on the radio yesterday, he sees Jackson as a work in progress. I think they are going to land him if the Phins don't. He seems receptive to working with him.

Dolphins passed on him.

After yet another free agent wide receiver expressed an interest in joining the Dolphins, the team still appears content moving forward with what it has.

Former Patriots wide receiver Chad Jackson worked out for the Dolphins on Friday, but they are unlikely to sign him barring an injury in Sunday's game against the Jets. Even then, Jackson's hopes to sign with Miami (his preferred destination) appear bleak, a source said Friday.

Jackson, who was a second-round pick by the Patriots out of Florida in 2007, has the size and speed of a pedigree receiver despite his inability to catch on with New England. The Dolphins are generally disenchanted by his potential.

Jackson's agent, David Canter, contacted the Dolphins earlier this week, eventually getting the team to give Jackson a look. But the result was no different than when the agents for Terry Glenn, Joe Horn, Eric Moulds and Koren Robinson reached out to the Dolphins in recent months. The Dolphins passed on each.

wouldnt have been a good place to play anyways. I think he would fit best with Oakland or Tennessee, both have young new QBs, Russell and Young, and need a young WR to throw to.

Both have undisciplined offenses and unproven QB's leadership voids and FO's with long track records of lousy judgement so Chad should be a fit...
