    My mind was changed today…

It's very simple math: if you hit on a HoF OT, he won't change the equation for this team unless you also get a QB. So try to get the QB.

    Is this it for Mac?

He didn't outplay Brady against the Bucs. He faced a team with a devastated secondary who played Richard Sherman off the street for the whole game because they had no DBs available and still lost, mostly due to the fact that the team didn't trust him to convert a 4th and 5 and opted to give Nick...

    Is this it for Mac?

Cool, he was good against the literal worst team in the sport and a team that had probably the longest and most significant injury report I can remember in all my years watching the NFL coming into that game. 10 TDs, 0 INTs against the two worst teams in football in the Jaguars and the Jets and...

    Is this it for Mac?

I'll push back strongly on the "they ruined him" narrative. The Patriots didn't do all they could to surround Mac with talent and stability at OC, that much is obvious, but he's been a front runner from day one. This idea that he was a poised, unshakeable rookie is so strange to me. In his very...

Tom Curran speculates on if Mac Jones will get Downgraded to third string

Veterans will come for the most money, rookies will come if drafted. It's professional sports.

NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Week 11 Games Thread

Lamar Jackson just plays winning football every week. Incredible that so many here were completely against the possibility of the Patriots bringing him in this off-season.

    But It's Not Mac's Fault....

Geno Smith has been fixed all the way into being the 22nd ranked QB by EPA/Play even while surrounded by a great set of weapons.

    But It's Not Mac's Fault....

Patriots fans weren't mocking the Jets for ruining Sam Darnold, they were mocking the Jets for having Sam Darnold (who sucked) as their QB. If Mac played for the Jets all this fanbases would talk about is how terrible he is.

PostGame Thread Official Post-Game Thread: Patriots Lose to Commanders 20-17

He's the quarterback. He's disproportionately important to their offensive success. Of course he gets more of the blame. This is the most basic stuff imaginable. Who got most of the laurels after their win against Buffalo? You're obsessed with narratives and perception of the player. Just watch...

PostGame Thread Official Post-Game Thread: Patriots Lose to Commanders 20-17

Everyone wants to scapegoat Mac? Name me ONE SINGLE other member of their absolutely putrid offense that has people writing paragraphs contextualizing criticism directed towards them? Point me to one post in the same vein as yours in response to criticism of the receivers or the OL. Just one...

    Mac and the "It Factor"

The one who wasn't actually mistake free at all and whose mistakes put them into early holes in two of those games? That's not good enough. The only reason those performances were painted as good by some is due to low expectations. If you get that level of play consistently, he's still not the guy.
  12. RodThePat

    Mac and the "It Factor"

Mac can perform at the level of guys like Minshew and Dobbs, absolutely. That's just not good enough. My argument is, that level of play right now is a baseline for starters. There are what, 3 or 4 dudes performing below that level? There just isn't that big of a risk in moving on. Worst case...
  13. RodThePat

    Mac and the "It Factor"

Teams didn't underestimate him. The Patriots recognized that playing with your QB on a leash makes it so you have a hard ceiling in today's NFL, and when they took the training wheels off he couldn't cut it. It's that simple. Mac Jones can't make plays and not turn the ball over at an alarming...

Coaching wise Bill isnt doing much different than he did in the past

Huh. I would think the more limitations are imposed on practicing, the wider the advantage for the teams that know what to focus on and how to prepare. Everyone is subject to the same rules, why can't Bill make the most of the rules that are in place?

    Mac and the "It Factor"

It would be malpractice to get another QB in there without retooling the skill positions on offense. These guys aren't good enough.
