What is loyalty? These guys get paid millions here and Seymour will get millions in Oakland or whereever. The only people who think it's smart to give an aging oft-injured DL a huge extension are moronic sportswriters, fanboys, and Al Davis.
Re: Rex Ryan verbal attacks Patriots and BB AGAIN
The Jets can not win a war of attrition. I can't wait until their 'hard-hitting' defenders start dropping like flies. Is their a dumber coach-player combo than Rex and Bart Scott?
I don't get where this apparent confidence is coming from by the Jets. This is one of the most paper-thin teams in the league. They have some very good players but their depth is attrocious.
The o-line looks good but they have a few older guys like Faneca and Woody and nobody behind them...
So I was reading on PFT about the Saints using a 'completition bonus' that kicks in at the end of 2010 and is a method of having garuanteed money that doesn't count against the 2009 cap. Does anyone know how this works?
And by anyone I mean th experts like Miguel and Adam.
I keep seeing people claiming this, but it isn't true. As a procedural point, he needs to sign with Carolina in order to be traded to the Pats. The Pats then can't sign him to a new contract until after they have traded for him.
This is exactly what happened when they traded for Moss. They...
Everybody says this when a high profile senior looks to be dropping. The flaws teams are seeing now are the same ones that would have shown up in the pre-draft process last year. And many times it is during the combine, etc. that all the web draft gurus get their first actual inside opinions...
Re: Lito Sheppard to the Jets per National Football Post
As far as their cap, they were never in that bad shape. a lot of money was in roster bonuses, easily converted to signing bonus and spread out. That plus FAVRAH retiring and Coles agreeing to give up guaranteed money just to get out adds...
Re: Lito Sheppard to the Jets per National Football Post
Yawn. Tannenbum is clueless. He has no vision of what the team should be because he isn't even a football guy. sign guys, dump guys. The redskins/message board approach. been working great so far.
The problem with this is that if the Pats give him a signing bonus and then trade him, they take a huge cap hit. A football players contract is only as good as the guarantees and there is no reason for Cassel to take a backloaded deal with a small bonus.
This might be his only chance to set...
Re: Would Cassell sign a long term deal before Free Agency?
The Pats would have to take the cap hit on his bonus when trading him, so it can't happen that way.
Re: After sundays game, its apparent more than ever that the Colts couldn't win w/o Pe
Peterson was carving up that pathetic D until Mathis gave him that massive cheap shot on his knee. He came up limping and wasn't the same the rest of the game. I can't believe I haven't heard anything about...
