I don't really know how to answer your question. There are strong feelings for this team and people often express strong opinions. Learning how to communicate in this environment where people wear passion on their sleeves can be challenging. For example; when I'm trying to use humor I've found I'm better off including a smiley for punctuation - it translates more consistently than my humor does.

I find that going back and rereading an exchange that got unpleasant can sometimes help me to understand how something I said was the trigger - see, smiley, humor above - other times it's worthwhile to take a more personal approach and send a Private Message to open a separate dialogue about the argument, a truly private conversation helps keep 'some' people from feeling defensive.

If you truly want to try and psychoanalyze an individual poster before you write them off as a lost cause PM me and I'll share my two cents (overpriced, but that's the free market for you).
