It will be interesting to see how long it takes them to rebuild. A truck fire in Philly caused part of I-95 to collapse and closed the highway for what was thought to be months. New governor got it rebuilt in 14 days, earning praise from all sides, shocking in this atmosphere....
I read an article ( can't find the link- nvm- here it is Jaylen Brown: The 2016 NBA draft’s Renaissance man ) that the cerebralness is what turned some teams off, thinking he wasn't fully invested in basketball...
Let's see how effective it is this year without Kelce as center. Tampa did a good job stopping it in the post season and it may be the blueprint going forward....
Dan Campbell, Demeco Ryans and Antonio Pierce( small sample) all seem to have had success as coaches who were players in the near recent past ( under 15 years)
I have a feeling ( hopefully) that they are playing the long game, knowing if they can't get the players they want now with the money either in FA or by trade, come cut down day before the season, they will be well positioned to swoop in and sign a bunch of players. Either that or use it to tie...
My gut tells me in the end, Pats will be glad they lost out on Ridley. Like the EBay bidding that goes crazy and the buyer wakes up to " what have I done" with Ridley's baggage, I don't think he is worth the $92 million..
I think of Leon Gray as a premier Pats left tackle but he was a 3rd round pick of the Dolphins.... Matt Light and Nate Solder were high draft picks 1st/2nd rounds...
I know he doesn't mean Ryan O'Callahan but if he is referring to Marcus Cannon, the reason he dropped was the diagnosis of Non Hodgkins lymphoma before the draft IIRC. He was a higher value pick at the 5th round.
EDIT- wasn't he a RT? mea culpa
